Me or the NYT? Date posted: January 20, 2014. Morning coffee. The New York Times’ Arts section sits upon the counter. Charles Isherwood’s review. Of the theatre performance, ‘Loot.’. Of the first four lines, I struggle to understand three of them. He writes of ‘epigrams.’ He writes of ‘medicine balls.’ He writes of ‘winking archness.’. Then he writes about theatre. It’s 8.30am. I’ve not switched on yet. I didn’t bring my dictionary with me. Shouldn’t sentences be short, concepts simple?
