Workspace | The Writers' Mill

We have four workrooms accommodating about 25 people. The shared open desk room has seven communal desks. We also have three semi-private offices with personal desks. The Writers’ Mill is a cooperative. We run it together and share responsibilities. The Mill has a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and water cooler. We use the lounge for lunches, meetings of Writers’ Mill Workshops, readings, and the occasional party. We also have a library for reading and working.

Who can join the Writers’ Mill? We welcome anyone who needs a quiet space to work on a writing project. You don’t have to be published. Membership is by application. How does it work? The Writers’ Mill is a cooperative. We run the Mill together and share responsibilities. We have two types of membership. You share a private office with 2 or 3 other people. You bring in your own desk, office chair and other furniture for your sole use. What kind of commitment do I need to make? Can I talk on the phone?

The Writers’ Mill is now in Florence Studios in downtown Florence, (a section of Northampton), at 34 North Maple Street, Suite 7. If you walk from the center of Florence down North Maple, take a left into the parking lot before the bike trail (and across from Florence Paint.)
