The Kilbourne Vine Caper…. I remember having a vegetable garden for several years when we first moved to the County. Mom and Dad bought a big chest freezer, and Mom worked hard freezing everything we managed to grow. Having arrived at my Grandad’s house in Bellefontaine, we set out for Kilbourne one day. In Other Words Christine Rice. Monthly Archives: July 2011. July 4, 2011 · 9:23 am. Creativity–A Precious Resource. I cannot believe I’ve neglected my blog (as sporadic as it was anyway) for nearly 3 months! I honestly don’t see how other writers do it…working on a novel (or two at a time…guilty! I take short breaks from it, sure. Once in awhile I have to step back, let things rest for a bit so I hopefully gain some prospective, but usually only for a few days. Then, I’m back at it. In Other Words Christine Rice. Monthly Archives: April 2011. April 9, 2011 · 8:06 pm. I’m in a funk. Not necessarily in a bad mood…just a weird mood. I feel like I’ve lost my momentum, like things aren’t moving forward but I lack the energy to get them moving again. Everything’s just standing still. I don’t like standing still. It needs revised and polished and, yet, I’m reluctant to do it. I don’t know. Maybe because I’m afraid that even when I do, it still won’t be good enough? So what is it? I hope yo...

(Still working on that one.) Nor did I finally figure out how to please my entire family at one, single mealtime. (Gave up that delusion a long time ago.) Or score the all elusive book deal. (Yet.). I got three, count ’em. Different kids transported to. Different schools this morning. All on time, I might add! I hope y...

In Other Words Christine Rice. Monthly Archives: January 2011. January 29, 2011 · 6:21 pm. If you read my New Year’s post, you’d know that one of my goals is to “ be more present in all things. I should heed this sound advice in my writing as well. That’s when negativity sets in and takes up residence in my brain, overstaying its welcome like an annoying relative during the holidays. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. When you blog, what comes first; the chicken or the egg? In some respects, blogging transports me back in time. It takes me back to one of the language classes in school. The teacher is sitting (or standing) in front of the class, a small smile twitching at the corner of her mouth while we scramble in behind our school desks. I just wanted to understand what other people were saying. I didn’t really see the need to talk to them. Anything ...

Skip to primary content. I’m cutting it close, arriving at work almost on the dot of 8am – or just past. For some reason this happens to me a lot. I tend to not be early or cutting it really really close. It is not on purpose. It just is. You never know how interesting you are until you pay attention to yourself. Is it weird to find yourself interesting? Maybe Hey, at least someone does, right? At least it is someone who’s opinion you’ll care about, right? So, what is my problem with being (not) on time?

Skip to primary content. The distorted trump invasion. Overhead lighting spot lights the dark hallway. The atmosphere is a bit oppressive and downright spooky. Yet somehow it also leaves an impression of money and luxury. Dressed in a very nice pant suite, toes squashed in high-heeled pointy shoes, I follow three gentleman into, what seems to be, a show room. The lighting is much better here. What a relief! 8220;What do you think? 8221; asks Donald senior. 8220;Is this what you envisioned? The other day,...

The Rusty Fork | The $#!& I Think About
https://zenassassin.wordpress.com/recipes
For those of you out there who fear cooking or adamantly proclaim they’ll never be able to cook, here are some helpful tips to get you started in the right direction:. Recipes are just guidelines. A clean workspace is a good workspace. 8211; It goes without saying but I’m saying it anyway. Wash. Wash. Wash. Get into the habit of washing your hands, utensils and boards after every item your cut up. It’ll keep both you and those who eat your food happy and healthy. Failure is an option. Add too much spice?
I don’t think that there’s anything worse than being ordinary | The $#!& I Think About
https://zenassassin.wordpress.com/2013/02/13/i-dont-think-that-theres-anything-worse-than-being-ordinary
I don’t think that there’s anything worse than being ordinary. That’s the part that irks me the most. The whole effort to be normal . Hell, if you have no one to speak to my ears are always open. I don’t have to know you to relate to what you’re going through. There’s no manual for life. You’re expected to do on-the-job training with it. There’s no shame in asking for help sometimes. This entry was posted on February 13, 2013 by Ian the Zen Assassin. It was filed under Rants. And was tagged with advice.

Megan Hampton reached instinctively for the vast leash collection she kept on a paw-shaped (natch) wooden hanger by the front door of her two-bedroom apartment. Then she realized her first client wasn’t until after lunch! Sighing contentedly, like a kid who wakes up to a sunny snow day and no school, Megan grabbed her umbrella and walked out the door alone. Blissfully, completely and happily alone. Still, it was home and had plenty of parks, tree lined sidewalks big enough for plenty of dogs and, oh yeah...
