To Buenos Aires and Back. A procrastinator's memories of a semester abroad. 8220;Education isn’t sold, it’s defended! During my time studying abroad in Argentina, we were given one week-long “spring break” in the very beginning of September. Me and a group of 7 other study abroad students decided to pack in as much sight-seeing as humanly possible. The banner that they’re carrying translates as the titles of this post: Education is not sold, it is defended! In Argentina, a college education IS FREE. ...

To Buenos Aires and Back. A procrastinator's memories of a semester abroad. On a more somber note…. This building looks pretty non-threatening, right? Maybe it could have been a school building, or some type of old-school hotel or cabana hide-away, even. False. This building was home to a modern-day concentration camp. First, a bit of Argentine history:. 8216;disappeared’ people) were held in detention centers throughout the country. While the tour would have been memorable with any guy off the street gi...

To Buenos Aires and Back. A procrastinator's memories of a semester abroad. A river full of…poop? Now, I don’t mean to use “poop” in my post titles all the time (See Dogs…and poop. But I just couldn’t resist using it in this post. and that’s because that beautiful body of water in this foto? Yeah, it’s full of poop. The city of BsAs is located right on the Rio de la Plata. While we were submerging our feet in the cool, refreshing water, a security guard waddled up to us (yes, I say “waddled” ...But on a ...

C is for Trouble. The Trials and Tribulations of a 7 month old baby. Laquo; I’ve Always Wanted One of Those. Taggies: Babies Love to Rub ’em. On February 15, 2012. My mom and I are pretty particular about the toys we buy for Caroline. We like her to have to use her brain and think a little when she plays with them. We also like them to be soft so when she’s waving them around and she hits her head with her toys, its not a big deal. So naturally, these types of toys can be found at specialty toy stores.
