Substitution | First Church of the Written Word
https://writtenchurch.wordpress.com/2013/03/06/substitution
First Church of the Written Word. Just another WordPress.com site. March 6, 2013. When Jesus Christ died upon the cross, it was a demonstration of His love. It was also a substitution for sinners. I want you to reflect upon those two things: a demonstration of His love, and a substitution for sinners. When we think of the cross of Jesus Christ, we ought to think of His love for us. After all, isn’t that what Romans 5:8 tells us? Why would he give the lifeline to this man, who abused him so clearly? Rebec...

First Church of the Written Word. Just another WordPress.com site. A Prayer of Hope →. October 18, 2013. As we approach the table, what is the first thing that passes through your mind? What do you think about when the time comes for the congregation to participate in the Lord’s Supper? Why do they sound alike? They all depict one thing: I am a sinner, a lowly, despicable sinner. They all served one purpose, and that was to remind me that I was not worthy of the cup and bread I was about to take....Becau...

The Story Page
Musings of a Writer-Wannabe. Friday, November 18, 2005. I grew up in a sunlit apartment. The radiator clanked and clicked. The landlord turned the heat off at night, so Momma would stuff blankets under the doors and chinks in the windows to keep the heat in. Before I was born, Momma painted my nursery walls with scenes from a swamp. A great friendly green frog looked at me in my crib. Plants grew haphazardly around the windows. Everything was green and yellow, kind and warm. There were walks in the park,...

First Church of the Written Word. Just another WordPress.com site. February 24, 2014. I love you so much, and will see you one day. A Prayer of Hope. December 3, 2013. God, it is our greatest rebellion towards you not to pray. So we offer up our hopes, our grief, our guilt, and our passions to you, in hopes that you would not look on us in rage, or sorrow. And we pray for the light of heaven, the light of your honor and might to shine forth upon us, both through our trials and in our joy. October 18, 2013.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Loving an engaged, workaholic and moody person is plainly suicidal. You cannot demand. You have to understand. You should learn how to adjust. You should know where to stand. After all, you are just the "other woman." Someone who rarely gets a happy ending. That's a terrible truth. Being one is really sickening. I, myself welcomed the pain that it gave me no time for myself. It pains so much. It's something traumatic. I miss myself. I miss him. I miss everything. Out of my league.
