Fue la mayor ofensiva aerotransportada llevada a cabo por los aliados y su mayor fracaso militar. El plan, ideado por Montgomery. Tenía como objetivo tomar los principales puentes de los Países Bajos (bajo ocupación alemana) con el fin de atravesar el Rin y alcanzar Alemania. La operación se localizó al sureste de los Países Bajos. Vista del río Rin en Arnhem. Y el de Düsseldorf.

Nuestro último viaje ha sido a Estados Unidos y no ha estado relacionado con ningún escenario bélico pero gracias a un regalo de boda muy original pudimos aprovechar nuestra estancia en Las Vegas para acudir a una galería de tiro bastante curiosa. En las Vegas, el límite lo pone el dinero que quieras gastar y una de las cosas que ofrece esta ciudad son las galerías de tiro. Ésta en concreto es la Battlefield Vegas.

Fue una parte muy importante de la Operación Overlord. Ya que si los desembarcos fracasaban tenían previsto concentrarse en este sector. La misión del 7º Cuerpo del Ejército.
