Juno: Moorea
http://www.yachtjuno.com/2015/04/moorea.html
The travels of Juno. Sunday, 26 April 2015. After a night sail from Fakarava we are approaching Moorea, brooding and mountainous, only ten miles northwest of Tahiti, its wooded slopes are green and lush. The smell of wood smoke drifts across the water as we enter the channel through the fringing reef and into the still green waters of the lagoon. We anchor in a sandy pool behind the reef near the little village of Papeto’ai in Opunohu Bay. 8220;Is the diving good? 8221; we ask the French dive master.
Juno: Raiatea, the Pearl Regatta
http://www.yachtjuno.com/2015/05/raiatea-pearl-regatta.html
The travels of Juno. Tuesday, 12 May 2015. Raiatea, the Pearl Regatta. We are in Raiatea, the spiritual capital of the Society Islands, 150 miles west of Tahiti and host of the Tahiti Pearl Regatta. The Pearl Regatta is well known; more for being held in the most beautiful sailing waters in the world than for anything else. It is eye wateringly expensive and the organisation is atrocious, but who cares? No, this is France and despite pleas from several boats over the VHF we hear them announce, ‘the...
Juno: Queensland, Australia
http://www.yachtjuno.com/2015/07/mackay-australia.html
The travels of Juno. Saturday, 25 July 2015. Unfortunately the weather has been poor for much of his time on board but it has given him a good taste of life on the ocean and its been wonderful to just have him ‘at home’ with us for a decent length of time. The crew of Aretha return from Sydney, re-energised after a weeks rest. Willow, aged three, greets me with excitement. 8220;Hello Paul” she says, jumping up and down in her bunny hoodie, ears flapping. 8220;Where’s Caroline? 8220;Where’s Andrew? After ...
Juno: Pacific Crossing, Landfall
http://www.yachtjuno.com/2015/03/pacific-landfall.html
The travels of Juno. Saturday, 21 March 2015. Pacific Crossing, Landfall. Dark shapes appear ahead out of the night, suddenly very close; a rich aroma of earth and vegetation is carried on the air towards us, pungent after the pure neutral air of the ocean. A faint light blinks on, then disappears. The wind has died and we are motoring towards land, wholly reliant on our charts until daybreak when the veil of darkness will be lifted and our landfall will be revealed. The island of Hiva. Marquesas, Hiva Oa.
Juno: Tahiti
http://www.yachtjuno.com/2015/04/tahiti.html
The travels of Juno. Thursday, 30 April 2015. Our pilot book states that the southern pass into Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, is accessible at all times – other than when there is a big swell from the west. We are now accustomed to the swell in the South Pacific; it normally sets from the south, but today - well today it seems to be coming out of the west and I estimate it to be between two and three metres – that’s quite big. Wedding anniversary; phew! After a restful weekend we meet up in the marina ...

Juno
The travels of Juno. Saturday, 25 July 2015. Saturday, 18 July 2015. Silver threads of rain glisten in the glow of our deck lights as we ghost into Port Resolution bay. It is pitch black with no moon. We follow the waypoints on our chart to take us between the reefs and into the shelter of this deeply indented bay. . 160;It is very unsettling anchoring in a shallow bay at night with no ambient light and reefs and shoals on all sides. I kill the engine and the silence is profound. . Sunday, 12 July 2015.

Be Our Guest
Thursday, February 5, 2009. Heres some info I have gathered for travel to, from and within Tonga and Fiji. For the most part of the time we are in Tonga we will be in the north island group Vavau. Flights from Australia arrive in the capital Nukulofa and then there is a domestic airline operating between Nukulofa and Vavau Group. Alternatively I have found a motor vessel that travels between the islands. Sydney to Nuku lofa, Tongatapu Group from $245pp Pacific Blue (Mon Thurs). Posted by Peter and Kylie ...

Monday, June 21, 2010. Our friends are all heading for warmer weather. Winter is here and we are not cruising for the first time in a couple of years. We are watching our friends sail through Coffs on their way to the warmer queensland weather and I think we are both getting jealous! Posted by Peter and Kylie Vaiciurgis. Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
