Ah, ca c'est la vie! I could just hear the ebb of the water- so soothing so therapeutic. I bet it's no comparison to Sauble Beach! Jeep wrangler 20 inch rims.

http://janelajanelajanela.blogspot.com/2005/04/favela-called-america.html

Reflections on living and volunteering in Brazil. Tuesday, April 19, 2005. A favela called America. This past weekend, residents of a community in the Praia do Futuro area, east side of Fortaleza, moved to a hill right next to the Morro da Vítoria favela where we work. These people took over the abandoned land, owned by the government, to create their homes. They used scrap material such as cardboard and wood and plastic to build their shacks. Guess what they called the community? Take care of yourself.

http://janelajanelajanela.blogspot.com/2005/04/exhaustion.html

Reflections on living and volunteering in Brazil. Thursday, April 28, 2005. I am absolutely exhausted. My mind is exhausted because so much has happened in the last little while. My body feels weak and I'm not digesting my food at all. It's so frustrating! I haven't been allergic to medication I've taken in the past, but I am concerned about having a reaction to anti-parasite stuff. So, I will talk to my partner's mom, a pharmacist, tomorrow. And the mother ignores her when she says it. She's ignored...

Reflections on living and volunteering in Brazil. Wednesday, May 18, 2005. I still have time. My goodness, it's my last week in Fortaleza. I feel sad to leave some pretty incredible people here. So I've been trying to squeeze in as much time with friends as I can, while finding time to plan classes (had my last computer class yesturday! Reflections on living and volunteering in Brazil. Sunday, May 01, 2005. On a brighter note, here are some pics! We just got a CD burned. This one is from a feijoada party three weeks ago with my drumming friends. The alfaia drums are lined up on the left, my teacher is playing caixa (in blue and white) and the girls on the right are playing ganzá. Living in Brazil is incredible. Posted by claudia @ 6:30 AM. Knit

Saturday, March 31, 2007. I reallly like dyeing yarn. Here's some stuff. The next one turned out really pretty but unfortunately I only dyed less than 50g. I'm using it to accent some socks now which are going well. This last one is obviously not dyed. I knit this awhile ago with either 32 or 34 gauge wire, US 10 needles, and some glass beads in my bead stash (we won't even go into that stash.). Next time, a sock post. Lots of socks. A plethora.
