On our honeymoon, Troy and I loved using the new terms “husband” and “wife” as much as possible. But we were surprised to find that it was just as glorious to say “you’re my best friend”. It’s still a little awe-inspiring to look across a room at him and think about how he’s my best friend in the whole world. The couple that prays together, stays together. Time is your friend. Well, I ne...

Thursday, February 11, 2010. A Maryland Blizzard. Actually, TWO Maryland Blizzards. We've walked, talked, played games, shoveled, watched movies, read books, and shoveled some more. I've cooked, baked, organized random closets, caught up on emails, finished many of the projects I've been avoiding, and only felt stir crazy a few times. Today I got out the camera to document some of this unusual experience. Dried winter flower pokey things:. Very cool. love the birdhouse next door. The road less travelled.

this glorious life...: writing and driving at the same time
http://jencwallace.blogspot.com/2009/01/writing-and-driving-at-same-time.html
Friday, January 16, 2009. Writing and driving at the same time. I'm cooking up some material for a new blog post. And of course, my most brilliant thoughts came as I was driving 70mph down the highway this morning. I told myself" What's a girl to do? I can't possibly sacrifice these thoughts to my horrible memory. I must document them immediately! And I answer back "Yes it is. Yes indeed.". Love to you all. I'll sacrifice my safety for you any day. :). Posted by Troy, Jen, and Lyla. One thing at a time.

this glorious life...: Esther - YAY. Haman – BOO.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Esther - YAY. Haman – BOO. March 10, 2009. Party like a little kid to celebrate the story and victory of Esther. Adults included. I suppose the goal is to dress up like a character from the Esther story (ie queen, king, middle eastern person, bad guy, etc). But, any costume will do, really. For some reason the guys all wear cowboy stuff. I ended up in some sort of Asian outfit this year. That dough is hard to work with! Besides, it tastes good no matter what shape it is. And an...

this glorious life...: Chanukah, Hanukkah, or Chanuka?
http://jencwallace.blogspot.com/2008/12/chanukah-hanukkah-or-chanuka.html
Monday, December 22, 2008. Chanukah, Hanukkah, or Chanuka? Well, since the word is actually a Hebrew word, there doesn't seem to be much agreement about how to spell it in English. I'm going to choose Chanukah. The "ch" forces me to try to make that throaty "hawk a loogie" sound, which I stink at. :) Other names for the holiday are "Festival of Lights" or "Feast of Dedication". So, in order to commemorate the victory and miracle, the Chanukah holiday was born! Let's see.other fun facts. Jelly don...I eve...

http://jencwallace.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 2, 2009. The 30th year of my life begins now. Today is my birthday. I'm 29, and so far, I really like it. . It's been an unusual birthday. Because Troy and I are moving tomorrow, I've been packing. All day. With some lovely phone calls to steal me from the tower of boxes I've created. You'd think packing alone all day would be an awful way to spend a special day, but in fact, I've quite enjoyed it. . Of course, all of this packing and processing has purpose for the future ahead. A new ...

this glorious life...: Hello Blogging World!
http://jencwallace.blogspot.com/2008/12/hello-blogging-world.html
Monday, December 22, 2008. I NEVER expected to join the blogging world. Now that I have, who knows how long it will last? I know some of the "jewish stuff" is pretty foreign and strange sounding. Some of you might even think I've officially lost my mind! And how would we honor or recognize special people or events? When would we slow down long enough to relax, be with family, or go on a vacation? How cool to have God set up all your country's traditions and holidays? So, here goes. Blogging, here I come!
