Part II: Barcelona and Valencia. January 15, 2014. After the drama that was our trip to the airport, Lara and I landed in Barcelona. Palm trees swayed in the breeze, ships bobbed gently in the ocean and Lara and I made it to our hostel after cluelessly wandering the city for only two hours. Note to self: Hotel Itaca. Barcelona was beautiful. Highlights include walking up and down La Rambla. Lying on the pier while soaking up much-needed sunshine and enjoying some seriously impressive Christmas lights.
