Bikram Infinity: October 2011
http://anotherversionoftruth.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
My adventures with Bikram Yoga. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Today before class I heard someone make a comment which I've heard many times before, including by some teachers. The comment is always something similar to, "Well I hate the class itself but it's worth it because I feel great afterwards." I happen to disagree with this line of thought and think it limits one's practice. Do I always enjoy the class when am in it? Of course not. Do I always look forward to class? Links to this post. Japanese Ham Sandwich: Now the class begins (Week 5)
http://japanesehamsandwich.blogspot.com/2010/10/now-class-begins-week-5.html
Sunday, October 24, 2010. Now the class begins (Week 5). Five weeks down and four more to go! Wednesday officially marked the halfway point of the Fall 2010 Bikram Yoga Teacher Training session. Bikram was back this week and with his return came three very late nights. On Monday, he kept us up till 3:45 am watching four or five episodes of Mahabharat. TV series with its hilariously cheesy special effects. And its sequel Krrish. It sure is a pleasure to wake up and see this image on the screen:. I reviewe...

Monday, April 12, 2010. My 60-day yoga shopping spree. A new Hot Class Bra at Lululemon? I'll take one in black, lavender, fruity tootie, and lagoon please! I haven't even gotten home and I'm already fantasizing about getting the Hot Class Shorts in each matching colour so that I'll have full sets. Then I'll get an email from Shakti Activewear - free shipping, one day only. They don't even have much inventory online, but I manage to spend $150 before the offer expires at midnight. As my 60-day yoga chall...

Japanese Ham Sandwich: March 2010

Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Yoga for the Type A Personality. Growing up my mother practiced yoga twice a week (she still does to this day). While I was exposed to yoga at a young age, I never really got it. I'd watch my mom stretching on the floor or doing a headstand in our living room and think she was a bit out there. My dad thought so too, as he chose more conventional forms of exercise - running and weight lifting. Completely different from any other yoga class I’d ever done. I could barely w...I don&#...

Bikram Infinity: August 2011
http://anotherversionoftruth.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
My adventures with Bikram Yoga. Tuesday, August 16, 2011. The Technology of Bikram Yoga. The Merriam-Webster's Dictionary has four definitions of technology. Two of them are particularly applicable to Bikram yoga. One is "the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area". And another one is "a manner of accomplishing a task especially using technical processes, methods or knowledge.". As you can see from these definitions, Bikram Yoga is. Links to this post. Bikram Infinity: February 2011
http://anotherversionoftruth.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
My adventures with Bikram Yoga. Friday, February 11, 2011. 563 classes (19 advanced) in 545 days. In one of Bikram's books (sorry I don't remember which) he discusses meditation and how anyone can meditate in a peaceful room with soft music playing, but the real test of meditation is if you can remain calm while driving on a jammed freeway in 110 degree weather while running late for something. Kind of like a Bikram class. Links to this post. Friday, February 4, 2011. 556 classes (19 advanced) in 538 days.

My adventures with Bikram Yoga. Monday, August 30, 2010. 393 classes (4 advanced) in 383 days. The funniest part was the teacher noticed the odd attire I was wearing and the hard time I was having as a result. At one point she told me that I need to find my yoga shorts because my "mojo" was in them! How true. I think I'm a lot less likely to forget my yoga gear again! Links to this post. Thursday, August 19, 2010. 382 classes (3 advanced) in 372 days. 5) My towel - A great gauge of the temperature. T...

Bikram Infinity: May 2011
http://anotherversionoftruth.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
My adventures with Bikram Yoga. Saturday, May 28, 2011. In previous posts on my blog, I've mentioned how I hate morning classes and preferred night classes. Well, as fate would have it, my new job has a very different schedule so.you guessed it, I have to take class in the morning almost every day now! 2 It's colder. Ok, this is a good thing for some people, but not me. However, with certain teachers, it's still fairly hot. Of course, this is related to. 3 My muscles are tighter in the morning, especiall...
