http://grey-elf.blogspot.com/2013/05/i-am-generation-x.html
The Whole Wide World. The irregular (in frequency and content) musings of a writer, game designer, future librarian, and wannabe bohemian. Thursday, May 9, 2013. I am Generation X. I am Generation X. We are those who were born in the 70's,. Raised in the 80's,. And came into our own in the 90's. Our parents were baby-boomers, and many of us now have children of our own. We remember Saturday Morning Cartoons like the Smurfs, Hulk Hoagan's Rock n' Wrestling, the Pac Man adventure hour, the Gummi Bears,.

The Whole Wide World: Nice weekend
http://grey-elf.blogspot.com/2012/10/nice-weekend.html
The Whole Wide World. The irregular (in frequency and content) musings of a writer, game designer, future librarian, and wannabe bohemian. Monday, October 15, 2012. So I decided last week that she and I should spend the day together this Saturday without anyone else around. I was supposed to go hunting again, but this was more important, so I called up Dad and told him I wasn't making it out, as Julie and I had plans. And Snow White and the Huntsman. Overall, it was a really nice weekend for she and I (a...

The Whole Wide World: Motivation is a problem
http://grey-elf.blogspot.com/2013/05/motivation-is-problem.html
The Whole Wide World. The irregular (in frequency and content) musings of a writer, game designer, future librarian, and wannabe bohemian. Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Motivation is a problem. Yesterday I was really down and really emotional for no apparent reason. Not sure what was up with that. I just dealt with it by kind of withdrawing into myself and riding it out. There's still a bit of it lingering today. Hoping it diminishes instead of getting worse. Posted by Jason Vey. Http:/ www.elflair.com/. The B...

The Whole Wide World: Seriously considering throwing in the towel
http://grey-elf.blogspot.com/2013/01/seriously-considering-throwing-in-towel.html
The Whole Wide World. The irregular (in frequency and content) musings of a writer, game designer, future librarian, and wannabe bohemian. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Seriously considering throwing in the towel. As of now, I'm re-evaluating. I don't know if I'll bother to publish it at all. I can't, it seems, score an agent even from a direct referral. Self-publishing or small press publishing will never see me on a shelf in a book store. Posted by Jason Vey. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wandering...

J. Steven York's Multiplex of the Mind -: The Shuttle Disaster that wasn't -- Barely
http://york-multiplex.blogspot.com/2009/03/shuttle-disaster-that-wasnt-barely.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. The Shuttle Disaster that wasn't - Barely. I follow space flight fairly close, but here's a chilling bit of history I wasn't familiar with. 21 years ago, just after the return to flight after the Challenger explosion, the Space Shuttle Atlantis came dangerously close to being destroyed by the same sort of tile damage that later destroyed Columbia. Except that, in many respects, the tile damage to Atlantis, also caused by an insulation impact during launch, was actually worse.

J. Steven York's Multiplex of the Mind -: Spam, spam, spam, Spam!

Saturday, June 05, 2010. Spam, spam, spam, Spam! Maybe it's because I don't post much to this blog (mostly I'm over at www.YorkWriters.com. But I've been having real problems with Asian spam, so I've turned on moderation here for all message comments. It's not like the action is so fast-paced here it will put a cramp on things, and maybe it will at least keep the damned spammers under control. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Whole Wide World: On Being My Own Boss and Why You Should, Too

The Whole Wide World. The irregular (in frequency and content) musings of a writer, game designer, future librarian, and wannabe bohemian. Saturday, April 12, 2014. On Being My Own Boss and Why You Should, Too. I came to a sudden realization this morning. I'm living my dream. It's not in the way I thought it might be, not remotely. But life is full of unexpected surprises. For those unaware, to say that a brand new library. 65279; and quite frankly, that stands to be more lucrative than librarianship- at...

J. Steven York's Multiplex of the Mind -: Vanity isn't Easy
http://york-multiplex.blogspot.com/2008/12/vanity-isnt-easy.html
Friday, December 12, 2008. There was a rather annoying article in one of our local papers the other day: a rather glowing profile on a vanity publisher. Now, if you don't know what a vanity press is, it's a publisher that will, for a (often sizable) fee turn your manuscript into a printed book. Such presses can take slightly different forms at this point. They may (usually for yet another fee) pretend to market your book. Oh, come on, Steve! Tell us what you really think! Like many things worth doing, ge...

Chris York's Going Coastal: Staying Flexible; or Keep On Keepin' On
http://cfyork.blogspot.com/2009/03/staying-flexible-or-keep-on-keepin-on.html
Chris York's Going Coastal. The official blog of multi-genre novelist (mystery, romance, fantasy, science-fiction, and more) Christina F. York. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Staying Flexible; or Keep On Keepin' On. And rather round. Not a lithe physical specimen. Doing deep knee bends, at least occasionally, I will still be able to do them. So tonight, when I was trying to figure out why the writing was going so slow, I made the connection: I am doing something I haven't done before. Then a three-book serie...
