Sunday, 10 June 2012. A week in Singapore. We arrived back in Bangkok yesterday after spending a week in Singapore. The main reason for going was to finally sort out my non-immigrant B visa for Thailand, but it also gave us the opportunity to visit our friend Micke who lives and works in Singapore. Found a cheap flight from Bangkok with Jetstar for $300 return, but that's where the cheapness ended. Singapore is SO EXPENSIVE! Arriving in Changi airport. We found the MRT station. Little India in Singapore.

Sunday, 15 January 2012. Ko Jum back to Krabi. We have just spent the last eight days on Koh Jum, South Thailand. The internet on the island was very slow hence no recent blog updates! Apologies, but this post will be a long one! I'm surprised there were not any chickens squawking around too. The beaches further north are far quieter and a bit rocky. Many Scandinavians must also stay here as there is a sauna in one of the resorts! Max on the guitar @Fubar. View from Seasons Resort, Koh Jum. There is norm...

Sunday, 23 September 2012. Penang to Langkawi.the cheap way! We decided to make a quick detour to Langkawi before heading back to Bangkok. The thought of another 27 hour journey just wasn't as appealing as laying on a beach instead! There are ferries that go from Penang direct to Langkawi but the journey can be quite rough and costs 500baht! Half of what we paid to get the train down here from Bangkok! After a bit of Google research on my part, found out that we can get a bus from Butterworth. But is in ...

Wednesday, 30 May 2012. Lumpini Park in Bangkok. Lake at Lumpini Park. It was a nice warm sunny day in Bangkok today so we went for a walk through Lumpini Park. Our apartment is only ten minutes away to this green oasis in the middle of Bangkok city. It's pretty big and there are several shaded areas with benches to sit and have a picnic. We walked from the entrance near Ratchadamri through to Lumpini MRT. On the way back from the park we popped into the American Language Centre. Lizard at Lumpini Park.

The Ninja That Travels. This is my third time travelling around SE Asia and I have found it difficult remembering the last two times so this blog is also to help the memory this time around! I should have really started it a while ago. I also thought it would be useful to share our travelling experience with the world as well as tips and tricks we've picked up along the way. I'm originally from Cardiff, Wales. And also part Greek. Clas is from Sweden. But has lived in Sydney. Both sets of Clas' parents c...

Be at one with nature, go play in the forest, pick berries, run in the fields! Moose are best seen in Sweden from late autumn – in winter they come up on the roads to lick the salt. Just watch out you don’t hit one with your car – serious damage! Take the Swebus when you can instead of the train – 5 times cheaper! Visit Helsingborg on the South Coast and take the ferry to Denmark. It takes fifteen minutes and you can stay on board drinking cheaper drinks than on land! Travelling from Thailand to Langkawi.

Sunday, 12 August 2012. Chiang Mai for Clas’ Birthday. Old Gate around Chiang Mai city. Clas celebrated his 38th Birthday on Thursday so we arranged a holiday and escape from Bangkok for a few days. We flew up on Wednesday evening with Bangkok Airways. In the North of Thailand. The flight arrived quite late in the evening so we had pre-booked a room in Hotel M. Near the Tha Phae Gate. Exited pretty quickly and caught a tuk tuk to the riverside. Had a few drinks in the Riverside Bar. And Good View bar.
