P.A.Y.N.E?: May 2009
http://ultrapayne.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2009. It feels so so nice to be back in Colorado. The plan was to see the border from the tourist-trap Four Corners Monument, but after realizing that you have to pay $3 just to experience an imaginary line, I saw it a little down the road instead: "Welcome to colorful Colorado". Indeed. Rewind:. The lightning was fantastic though.I saw at least 15 strikes less than 2 miles away from the safety, at first, of my clear patch of sky. Durango tomorrow. San Juans tomorrow! P.A.Y.N.E?: April 2010
http://ultrapayne.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 17, 2010. This is going to be tough to pull off after going nearly a month without blogging. Expensive internet, lack of towns with internet, and lack of desire to sit in front of a computer for more than 10 minutes at a time led to me avoiding the blogging thing, but here we go. We are in Guatemala! This is without question the toughest cycling we have done on the trip. period. Mountain bike with wide tires would be tough. Posted by Airic Payne. Links to this post.

P.A.Y.N.E?: Superstitions and endings
http://ultrapayne.blogspot.com/2010/11/superstitions-and-endings.html
Tuesday, November 9, 2010. I'm not sure that there could have been a better ending to this trip than hiking in the Superstition Wilderness. From GET - Arizona. White Canyon Wilderness (surprising rough AZT conditions)turned out to be one of the hidden gems of Arizona. Huge canyons. Really strange strange buttes. Mother Nature is a strange woman indeed. Of New Mexico really couldn't compare to this. Sunsets that linger for an hour never really get old. Huge views. overgrown trail. more huge views. I loved...

Saturday, May 1, 2010. Welp our trip is nearly over. Not enough time to write about it now, but suffice to say, we are still having fun. Some of that could be due to the fact that we are soaking up every minute of this adventure before it ends. It could also be due to the fact that Guatemala is incredibly beautiful. Either way, we have had some incredible adventures these past few weeks. So we climbed up Volcan Tajumulco, the tallest peak in Central America. Yup.beautiful:. Posted by Airic Payne.

Those toads look awesome, and the cows on the CDT is what made me vegetarian, so good call. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 2009 Mexico, Belize, y Guatemala en Bicicleta.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Currently in Milwaukee, then to Atlanta, then on a greyhound to start the next adventure on November 22nd. I'm starting up a new blog at http:/ yumatoushuaia.blogspot.com for the trip. Hopefully I'll get a gear list and who knows what else up on there before doing internet cafe updates on the road while munching on Fish Tacos. Posted by Airic Payne. Links to this post. P.A.Y.N.E?: October 2010
http://ultrapayne.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 25, 2010. Full disclosure: although I hyped the Gila up in the previous post as being incredibly gorgeous (it really was! WHERE DID THE TRAIL GO? Here I could see the strange mesas that butt directly against the mountains. Duh, I've seen many a mesa before, but never like these. They stand hundreds of feet off the valley floor, and protrude from a surrounding ridge. awesome. This kept happening all the way up Maple Peak. The sky had been growing darker all morning, and now at the top ...

Sunday, September 26, 2010. Bear 100 Race Report. Cute) girl with (cute)friend: "You're doing awesome and look great! Me: "If only you could feel my body right now.". Me: "ummmm, I guess that came out wrong, eh? APPROACHING THE BEAR (aka The Bovine 100). 170 or so runners waiting in the last minutes before the 6am start. THIS IS FUN (MILES 10-20). Leaving that aid station was an easy and flat 3 mile run up a craggy canyon along smooth dirt road, complete with magic light filtering thru fall leaves. Lots ...
