Hausa-Arewa Stereotypes ~ Ladi Says
http://missladidi.blogspot.com/2008/01/hausa-arewa-stereotypes.html
Northern nigerian girl yarning dust. Thursday, January 10, 2008. Okay, I'm in mallam mode today but really I came came across this blog: http:/ zahratique.blogspot.com/. Its by a Hausa lady and damn does she write intelligently. I was so impressed but thats by the way. Her last post was about tribalism, including stereotyping, got me thinking "why don't I express my view on the topic? So, I will. I am a core Northerner ('yar Arewa) and speak hausa fluently with a waec A1 to prove (Did I have to say that?

Random Ramblings of a Regular Naija Guy. Thursday, April 17, 2008. Blog all day… Blog all night. When I decided to become a blogger, I took note of some potential challenges to my new pastime: money for café visits being the chief one. Then I got a laptop and found out I live within range of a commercial hotspot. Nice. Then I came to work with my new toy one day and found out our neighbors have a free Wi-Fi thing going for their staff. Nicer. So browsing money is no longer a problem, most times. Switch o...

Random Ramblings of a Regular Naija Guy. Saturday, February 12, 2011. Party's over. who made this mess? So Egypt is free. The "Last Pharoah" has been dethroned and the process of de-constructing the spectre that was Mubarak has begun. I am part of the generation that grew up only ever knowing Mubarak's Egypt. But watching the birth of a new Egypt is proving inspiring in many ways. Egyptians replacing the paving stones that had been used as weapons. Egyptians cleaning up the streets. Or click the image.

Mista Jay: So I watched the Superbowl...
http://nurujay.blogspot.com/2011/02/so-i-watched-superbowl.html
Random Ramblings of a Regular Naija Guy. Wednesday, February 9, 2011. So I watched the Superbowl. So I watched my very first Superbowl. On sunday. (Disclaimer: I'm Nigerian. And have never been to the good ol' U.S of A.). I figured that with my basic understanding of the workings of American Football (yes, it is AMERICAN Football no matter what the yanks do to market it globally) I should be able to stay awake from 12am to 4am to watch the most purely American sporting spectacle in the world. Right?

Random Ramblings of a Regular Naija Guy. Monday, June 30, 2008. I AM SUCH A LAZY BLOGGER! To all my fellow bloggers out there who update like four times a week I just wanna say I hail y'all. You guys are either the hardest working neo-journalists and exhibitionists or the most amazing bunch of layabouts ever to come out of Nige. Just think "publish post" and its there. Just the other day, I was backstage at a show in Lagos watching the Mo' Hits crew do their thing, and I agree with Bumight. For nothing&#...

Random Ramblings of a Regular Naija Guy. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Is Michael Bay an artist? OH YES HE IS! Is it defined by a stringent set of rules and regulations or can each be a master of their own medium? Complaining about the absence of gravitas in a film like Con Air is the same as looking at a work of Miro and saying "That sucks, it's all squiggly! Every artist has their strengths and styles. So pull your head out of your ass, sit down, shut up, and eat your awesome." - The Monocular Group.

Random Ramblings of a Regular Naija Guy. Friday, December 19, 2008. I wan go thief! I have decided to become a thief. A great big political thief. And who can blame me? It is the only safe way to steal in Nigeria. Alamasieyegha was sentenced to 2years for money laundering. He spent only 2months in jail after his conviction. Spent 6months in jail for stealing billions of naira. It's official - political thieves and corrupt officials serve the shortest prison sentences in the Nigeria. . Chief Fawehinmi has...
