The Zen of Knitting. I’m somewhat proud of myself. 64 Squares →. December 8, 2011. So as you can see, I’ve been productive. For someone who hates making sca. Rves, I have sadly, been making a lot of them. This first is the Sea Lettuce Scarf by Lucy Neatby. I am glad to say that the hate never entered the garment. My Ravelry link is here. Short rows. I like how they can add dimension to a garment and now that I understand how to do them, I like doing them. By Ann Budd. Ravelry link is here. You are commen...

The Zen of Knitting. Newer posts →. I’m somewhat proud of myself. October 19, 2011. So this is me. This is me in an adult-sized garment that is not an accessory. In fact, this is me in an adult-sized garment that is not an accessory that I knit. All by my very self. As you can see there are some issues with it. The sleeves are way too long. I trusted too much in the pattern and since this is knit almost entirely in one piece, by the time I realized that, it was too late to go back. Ravelry link is here.

And then there was the Penrose | The Zen of Knitting

The Zen of Knitting. February Lady Sweater →. And then there was the Penrose. October 8, 2012. I’ve been working on this on and off since January 1 of this year. It’s one of the Woolly Thoughts’ patterns. The seaming…nearly 2 weeks it’s taken me to first stitch the pieces together and to weave in all the ends. It was worth it though. Toe-Up Socks | The Zen of Knitting

The Zen of Knitting. The joys of self-patterning sock yarn. Toe-up socks completed →. May 2, 2012. I am half a sock away from my first pair of Toe-Up Socks. They are by no means perfect. In fact, I am so far from offending the knitting gods with the perfection of the knitting that it’s just sad. Anyhow…. The pair I’m working on is from a Knitty pattern called “ Back to Basics. The Zen of Knitting. Toe-Up Socks →. The joys of self-patterning sock yarn. March 19, 2012. Up until recently most of the socks I’ve done have either been in worsted weight (goes fast, big needles, thick yarn), baby socks (over in a sec because they’re so small), or on in fatter than normal fingering weight yarn and on size 3 needles. They have all been done with Magic Loop. 8 stitches per inch. A photo by mlzafron. Socks from Graham’s yarn. A photo by mlzafron. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Just another knitting Mom. Posted by greenapplesknits in Uncategorized. I can’t believe that I’ve gone so long without posting anything – sorry about that! While I’ve been away from blogging, I have managed to get a few projects done – mostly baby knitting it seems! What I’ve knit (in no particular order):. 2 Blanket for my newest nephew – Baby E (who is pictured, along with my handsome DH). 4 Felted bowl (my first felting project). Photo with the buttons on). Project 3: Arucania Pomaire scarf done | Peach's Projects

June 9, 2009. Project 3: Arucania Pomaire scarf done. 8212; kimberleyaroper @ 4:00 am. I’ve finally finished the Arucania Pomaire scarf. It’s not a difficult pattern nor is it a long project, I’ve just been busy with other stuff. Apricot is always a willing model🙂. I’m still working on the other parts of Project 3 and I’ll post them once they’re finished and received. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. greenapples knits: January 2009

http://greenapplesknits.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 26, 2009. I love mittens (and I mean REALLY. Love) - especially hand-knit ones. Last spring, I finally finished a pair that ended up being my favorite ones ever - my Mermaid Mitts. Oh, how I loved those mitts - and I didn't even manage to get a full winter of wear out of them! Because my cute little monster of a boy flushed one down the toilet! The beloved Mermaid Mittens. So now, I present my emergency mittens:. And, yes, I've learned my lesson - always have more than one pair! So here a...

Project 1: Ready to mail | Peach's Projects

https://peachsprojects.wordpress.com/2009/03/20/project-1-ready-to-mail

March 20, 2009. Project 1: Ready to mail. 8212; kimberleyaroper @ 9:57 pm. The small red blanket pulled a fast one in the laundry: The yarn relaxed to the point of becoming more like a normal sized baby blanket, stretching by several centimetres in each direction. It’s less stiff and more drapey now (not that it was stiff before), with the knit noticeably less tight. It kept its shape prior to washing, but now … it’s going to have its own mind about shape. Going into a box for the mail …. Why do I knit?

February 24, 2009. Project 3: Update–Convincing myself it’s not really camo …. 8212; kimberleyaroper @ 9:24 pm. I haven’t done much on either item in Project 3, but I was chomping at the bit to see how that Araucania would knit up. Frogged it three times, once for sizing and twice because I screwed it up somehow. I must have been ridiculously tired to have knit in the tail instead of the working thread … D’Oh! Araucania scarf, no flash, to show the texture. With the flash, to show the colours. I have to ...

Project 6: Bigga scarf | Peach's Projects

April 27, 2009. Project 6: Bigga scarf. 8212; kimberleyaroper @ 8:29 pm. Enough ranting. This yarn is … huge. Literally. A 100 g ball of this stuff has a yardage of only 40 m. As usual, I’m making a scarf. I have far too many things that will become scarves so I have to keep reminding myself that it’s the journey, not the destination (unless, of course, I’m making something for someone else). I adapted the “Flirty Scarf” pattern on Ravelry and Purls Gone Wild. Bigga scarf, with pen for size reference.

November 24, 2009. Project 8: Christmas Ornaments. 8212; kimberleyaroper @ 4:36 am. You have been warned: The rule was “Stash yarn only.” Oy … I have novelty yarn in my stash, and the really “Christmassy” ornament patterns require wool, or tiny-weight cotton, or DPNs, or …. Okay, who doesn’t love a mini purse? Don’t say it or I’ll bring out the DPNs.). Gozilla loves mini purses. Yes, even the bead strings were “stash.” I think I did okay. Leave a Comment ». I was uninspired by my works in progress, so I started what I was hoping would be be quick project for summer wear: A simple triangle shawl in Bernat Matrix, Acid Axis colourway (blue and green). On Ravelry, it’s the Trellis Triangle Shawl from Lion Brand, “Trellis” being the Lion Brand ladder yarn. Bernat Matrix yarn in Acid Axis colourway (photo from Joann.com). October 14, 2009. 8212; kimberleyaroper @ 10:37 pm. I haven’t been knitting much over the summer (too warm! But now that it’s cooler outside I’m back at it. Okay, so what’s on the updated Project list? Blog is concrete; list is partly speculative. Let’s see, what have I done lately? I made wristwarmers/fingerless gloves for Apricot and myself–mine are Queensland pima cotton and Apricot’s are millends stuff, Bernat Soft Boucle, I think.
