Adventures In Argentina: August 2016

http://adventuresinargentinaranch.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

View my complete profile. Sunday, August 28, 2016. Week two: getting aclimated. An old adage shared with us by the prior LDS missionaries goes as follows: Any misfortune viewed with the right light can be considered an adventure. So our response with each misfortune we encounter will be, “Un Adventura! 8221; or in English— “It’s an adventure! Our adventura began at the banco when we inserted our card. Instead of money, we got a slip of paper saying that our card would remain at the bank. What! These are ...

Adventures In Argentina: December endings

View my complete profile. Sunday, December 11, 2016. Success in Los Perales:. Carina finished her bag. Remember this was made from some worn out trousers. Since the three women (chicas) in Los Perales have finished their bolsas, they have now moved on to bigger things. Vanesa wants to learn to make roses out of ribbon so I have a YouTube sight ready and the needed tools. So sad especially for Yuca's kids. However, we think he had fleas so after he was gone, the fleas were looking for another host. We als...

View my complete profile. Sunday, November 27, 2016. Last few days of school before summer break! School is almost out:. Instead of school ending next week like we were originally told, this is our last week of school here at the ranch. Schedules seem to change as regularly as the weather. Yuca hinted that he would like us to paint all the gates on the ranch or at least the ones we use all the time. There's a bunch! With warm weather, we aren't sure it's a good plan for us, but we'll see. Teaching Englis...

We bought a cake mix here—yup they have a few cake mixes. It made up pretty well. We made some flan—also came in a kit. Added whip cream, ice cream, drizzled it with chocolate and added a little Nutella and walnuts. Yum! Perhaps not that pretty) We didn’t even share it with our students. I was back in the truck in lightning speed. Cleaning the old farm house:.

Adventures In Argentina: Happy New Year!

http://adventuresinargentinaranch.blogspot.com/2017/01/happy-new-year.html

View my complete profile. Sunday, January 1, 2017. Perhaps, Christmas is not a big celebration in Argentina, but bringing in the new year is a very big deal. We are about the only ones left here at El Quebracho holding down the fort. I mean . ranch. We saw a couple of gauchos yesterday but everyone else is off celebrating with their extended families. We had chicken and mashed potatoes along with green peas and salad made with tomatoes and red pepper. Looks "Christmasy" don't you think? We also watched t...

Aaron, Michelle and Family: SF Day 6

http://thejohnsonsrus.blogspot.com/2015/08/sf-day-6.html

Sunday, August 2, 2015. The first thing they did was make moves with a green screen. The slide they went down for their movie. Then we went to the robot room. We spent an hour there. You can program the robots to draw, play music, and go in a maze. The kids got their own IPad (yes, they used an Apple product.don't tell Aaron). Blake enjoyed it more then Dylan, but Dylan still loved it. Dylan's has a pizza cape (those are pepperonis on his cape). They loved creating these projects. The museum was inside a...

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Most know this, but my kids love to dress up and they like put a new twist on things. These kids are silly.they make me laugh. Aithen and More Summer Fun. After Sean picked up the kids, we ate lunch and then Aithen came over to play with Blake. Austin wasn't having a good day so he didn't stay to play. The boys played lots. This whole thing is actually a huge headache so I will be happy when it is done. Sunday was church. No new Bishop yet. In ward council Bishop basically...We we...

Saturday, August 1, 2015. San Fran Day 2. At the pier we saw a little bit of a street show.a guy escaping from a straight jacket. Ghirardelli ice cream.yummy! He was out. Good thing he only weighs 43 pounds. Yep, he is not fun to carry around. After we got back to the hotel, we went and got dinner and then we went over to the park again since we didn't do enough running around. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Aaron, Michelle and Family: July 2015

http://thejohnsonsrus.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Did you get your free slurpee on 7-11? We did. It made us happy. Then we went to the library for lego storytime. They read one story and then let your play with lots of their legos. We had Austin and Aithen over. We went to the park and then went on an adventure. We stopped at the pond where the boys decided to fish. Aithen found some leftover fishing line and some bait, so off they went to fish. It lasted longer then anticipated. The kids love doing these. Even when they get duds.

Aaron, Michelle and Family: San Francisco Day 1

http://thejohnsonsrus.blogspot.com/2015/08/san-francisco-day-1.html

Saturday, August 1, 2015. San Francisco Day 1. A couple weeks ago Aaron had to go to San Francisco for work, so we tagged along. We left on a Friday and came back the following Saturday. It was in the 60s most of the days. It wasn't fun to come back to 100 degree weather in Texas. Now I understand why everyone leaves for the entire summer here in Texas. The boys were so excited to go on a trip. Here they are in the airport waiting to board the plane. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Food Storage Recip...

Saturday, August 1, 2015. San Francisco Day 3. We got to San Francisco and the boys just wanted to run around. Then we walked down to Fort Point. Another day of 20,000 steps. If you remember the picture from day 2, this fort is right underneath the bridge. This fort is large. But he did and he totally loved them. They are pricey so I wasn't sure if I really wanted him to love them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Aaron, Michelle and Family. Last day of school, Last battle on bugs.we hope! 1st Day of ...

http://thejohnsonsrus.blogspot.com/2015/08/sf-day-5.html

Sunday, August 2, 2015. Tuesday morning we took the bus to the SF Zoo. It was overcast and chilly with some drizzling, but we had fun. This giraffe loved looking at Blake.it kind of freaked Blake out. These howler monkeys were super loud. The mom had her baby right with her. It is interesting how moms are with their babies. Komodo Dragons are so interesting and apparently he thought we were interesting because he was checking us out too. Lots of kangaroos. Blake was sad that we didn't see any joeys.
