First Stop, Philly – Adventures With Sarah

https://adventureswithsarahblog.wordpress.com/2016/09/24/first-stop-philly

First Stop, Philly. So I got to the airport, checked my two giant bags, said some tearful goodbyes (mostly on the part of my mother), and boarded the plane. Unfortunately I was delayed sitting on the tarmac because the path to Philly was closed for weather reasons. After sitting on the plane for 30 minutes we finally took off. The wait ended up pretty much doubling the length of our flight time. September 24, 2016. 4 thoughts on “ First Stop, Philly. September 24, 2016 at 6:22 pm. Good luck in Morocco!

Adventures with Sadie Mae. Monday, May 10, 2010. If Sadie Were Here. If Sadie Mae were here she would say sorry she hasn't been writing, she would say thanks for stopping by. She would say she is not in any more pain, and she would tell you that she is healthy and happy and eating snausages at the Rainbow Bridge. If Sadie Mae were here she would say stop back again cuz her Mom has a few more Sadie stories that need telling - but she needs the water to stop coming from her face first. And then my tail dec...

la vita quotidiana

Ramble on, Rose. This weekend was a big one for me, personally. Saturday I turned 26. While I love a good party and understand how much fun birthdays can be, I prefer to downplay my own. Let's be real, there's not much I did to get there. I lied. I'm actually 116! Sunday, however, I woke up real early and was out the door by 7. My lovely Mom, my cheerleader in all things, joined me off of Main Street to see me off on another crazy challenge: my first triathlon! Finally, there's the 2 mile run. My cal...

Adventures With Sarah

Love and food for the nom-violent revolution. Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Help Me Name This St. Germain and Strawberries Drink. I had a craving for St. Germain this evening. Something sweet with a little sour and maybe herbal. So I pulled a strawberry out of the fridge, some mint from the garden and created this refreshing summer time drink. Drink it on the porch at sunset. I went through a list of creative names for this drink. The Drunken Garden Teacher keeps playing through my mind but that's long. Of co...

Http:/ www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/04/29/403072619/pope-francis-calls-gender-pay-gap-a-pure-scandal. Is Pope Francis the Pope I’ve always dreamed would come along? Adventures with Standards Based Grading

Adventures with Standards Based Grading. Thursday, February 7, 2013. Coming up with a retake policy that worked for me was VERY challenging. I had several concerns when I started thinking about it. Should a student who shows mastery on a retake be given the same grade on that standard as the student who mastered it on the first attempt? What is the benefit for a student to keep up with class and do the best they can on the assessment the first time it is given if they are given unlimited retakes? For eac...
