Architect in Heels: Maximizing Your Small Bathroom
http://www.architectinheels.com/2014/11/maximizing-your-small-bathroom.html
Maximizing Your Small Bathroom. Originally, this was a large, rectangular room without a bathroom. The space was much to large and narrow for it to be very useful. The first question was, "Can we reorganize this space to still contain the same furniture, but also include a larger closet and a small bathroom? Believe it or not, the new bathroom is only about 3'6" wide! What you can't tell from the pictures, is that the built-ins are actually concealing a sloped floor (necessary for the stair below). Wellb...
Architect in Heels: Sorting it Out; One Load at a Time
http://www.architectinheels.com/2013/06/sorting-it-out-one-load-at-time.html
Sorting it Out; One Load at a Time. I don't know about you, but the laundry never seems to get done around our house - where is the maid, anyway? No matter how hard I try and "make it happen", by the time I think I'm done, there are three more loads that are ready to clean. And do any of you ever find yourselves re-washing the same load of clothes five times because you forgot to put it in the dryer? Please tell me I'm not the only one! This new and improved. It starts with not one, but three or more.
Architect in Heels: The Bathtub Question
http://www.architectinheels.com/2013/04/interior-moments.html
To Bathe or not to Bathe. That is the question. Now, I'm not going to talk about cleanliness here, just to let you know! I want to discuss one of the most common questions I get when speaking with clients about their master bath. Which is, "Are people really doing tubs at all anymore? While this is a very important thing to consider, I really want my clients to consider whether or not THEY. Not for the next Owner. Also, create a tub that is easy to get in and out of. You don't want to have to climb u...
Architect in Heels: Small Tweaks; Big Results
http://www.architectinheels.com/2014/11/small-tweaks-big-results.html
Small Tweaks; Big Results. This is the perfect example of making small "tweaks" and getting big results. The size of this space never changed; we just gained more visual and functional space by changing the door location and plumbing fixtures. The existing space was very awkwardly arranged. A tiny sink was located right next to the walled-in tub. This allowed for about an 18" walkway between. Perfect? Nope The bathroom just felt like a hallway more than a room. And on the ceiling? What is this about?

http://www.architectinheels.com/2013/09/architect-inflats.html
You may be wondering why you haven't received any new articles from me lately. We are currently expecting our second baby, so I've been a little preoccupied! Hence, why I am wearing flats instead of heels. Please stay tuned, though - I plan to have some fun new articles after we are settled in with the new little one! What is this about? Meaningful Home: December 2012
http://meaningfulhome.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 14, 2012. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. This year I decided to simplify my holiday decorations. The goal was to have displays that were quick to assemble, easy to store, and budget friendly. The best way to achieve this is to use items that you already have on hand and to use real plants and foliage (preferably the free kind from your own yard). Stockings hang from a garland adorned with ornaments. Now we just need a visit from Santa. Thursday, December 13, 2012. Don't get...
Meaningful Home: September 2012

Friday, September 28, 2012. Kinda rocks my world. She designed this room, and as you may recall it is the inspiration for Madeline's nursery. Here's some more Tyler Dawson awesomeness eye candy for you:. I love how she is just a little bit of everything: vintage, glam, modern, Victorian, bohemian, traditional. Her rooms are always filled with color, pattern, and texture, but are still very soothing. A hard mix to master, but she pulls it off effortlessly. If I had a million dollars, she'd be my decorator.
Meaningful Home: Another Point of View
http://meaningfulhome.blogspot.com/2013/09/another-point-of-view.html
Monday, September 16, 2013. Another Point of View. I don't know if I shared this before, but the wallpaper in Savannah's room is by Designers Guild and comes from their Amalienborg collection. The pattern is "Sanssouci" and the colorway is "Heather". (If you aren't familiar with Designers Guild, check out their website. Because it is fabulous.). Until now I've only seen this wallpaper in one other installation, which is the photo on the Designers Guild website:. A Toronto based design firm:. Well my frie...

Monday, September 30, 2013. My Head is Spinning. Cause I might be getting a new kitchen! My poor little brain cannot process this information and I am on complete overload because I have been glued to the computer for hours looking at a gazillion kitchen photos. It all started last Monday when we had our annual termite inspection. Everything was great, no termites, woohoo. Then the guy tells me that there is standing water underneath the house and we should get it checked out. OK, no biggie. Even so, I s...
Meaningful Home: March 2012
http://meaningfulhome.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 26, 2012. What a Difference a Roof Makes. This may be the most beautiful roof I have ever seen. Thursday, March 22, 2012. It's about time for Savannah to get a "big girl" bed. I didn't think. Twin beds were very exciting until I started looking. Around and found these dreamy beds:. Sorry, not sure where this image is from! Maybe I should downsize. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. And The Winner Is. Remember a few posts ago when I was trying to decide on a color for the vanity in the. So, in honor...

Architecting Work
Saturday, June 13, 2009. If you build software or work in systems technology (and have any hope for success at this point) you know there is basically one thing that you can count on.that everything you know today will need to change in order to accommodate new technologies, new user expectations, and shifting environmental constraints. Today all companies are facing financial constraints, more streamlined and often significantly smaller staff, increased competition for fewer deals, and customers who kno...
