Friday, October 29, 2010. On the Road with Uncle Bob. A trip to Gettysburg inspired by Bruce Catton's book "The Final Fury". Such an outcome was not guaranteed, however. The Union forces, under Grant, had won victories in the West and were threatening Vicksburg on the Mississippi River at the moment Lee crossed his army into Pennsylvania. But Lee felt that this was the South's best chance for a successful outcome. The war would drag on for two more years before Lee would finally surrender at Appomattox C...

http://lizandalex.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Alex and Liz Goodwin. Sunday, October 26, 2008. 9 Months of Jack. I can't believe it's been so long since I updated this blog! Alex and I are doing well, too. The house is still coming along - lots of projects on the to do list, but we're ticking them off one by one. We will have officially owned the house for 1 year on Halloween. It definitely feels like home now, although we still don't have any curtains on any of the upstairs windows - baby steps. Posted by Liz Goodwin. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://lizandalex.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Alex and Liz Goodwin. Sunday, May 31, 2009. I'm officially in my third trimester (yay! And, sure enough, I am currently host to another giant baby. I had a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago and my belly is measuring at 32 cm, which means this baby is measuring about 2 - 4 weeks bigger than average. Jack was huge (9 lbs. 3 oz; 23") and this baby is currently outpacing him. Yikes. And he LOVES riding on the bike with his dad. Here are some recent pictures:. Posted by Liz Goodwin.

Alex and Liz Goodwin. Friday, January 21, 2011. Goodwin Boy #3 on the Way! Well, that's what happens when you wait 7 months between blog posts, I guess! We are expecting another baby on March 20 th. And, as it turns out, it's another boy. Yikes. I get mixed reactions when I tell people that we'll have three boys. Some people groan and give me sympathy. But, lately, some moms of little girls have said to me, "you're lucky - boys are so much easier! So I'm feeling pretty good about it. Jack seems to be exc...

Last post was almost a year ago. Maybe I'm aiming too high? Maybe an annual post is more my speed? Like one of those annual letters that people throw into their holiday cards? Yeah, we're idiots. Book Reviews and Short Story Links

Book Reviews and Short Story Links. Table Manners for Monsters. Tabitha and Todd had a tea party and a bunch of monsters showed up. They showed up uninvited at the front door and rang the doorbell over and over and over until she answered the door. They didn't wipe their feet when they came into the house and tracked mud everywhere down the hall. They rushed into Tabitha's room and jumped on her bed that she had just made until they broke it. Where they didn't flush the toilet! Which was quite rude!
