I took this image at dusk and the light was very poor so I increased the blacks while leaving the sky untouched to create a two dimensional image. April 5, 2011. I spent some time at the Audubon Rookery today. I came away with the realization that I absolutely need a better camera! These egrets are in the process of building their nests. I hope to be able to follow them as they raise their young this spring.

My imagination was captured by these flowers. They remind me of the illustrations from the books by Dr. Seuss. Those were some of my favorite stories as a child and I still enjoy some of them today. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Watching at the Bird Feeder. For the record, the Hound Dawg thinks that watching birds out the window is one of the most useless things EVER. In some ways, he may be onto something. My weekend mornings get sucked away before I know it. However, today it paid off. This is the first year that I've seen indigo buntings in our yard.
