Oracle Team USA win 34th America’s Cup! Riding Bieker Boats Engineered / Core Builders Built Foils. It was an epic battle on San Francisco Bay - ending in an eight race Oracle Team USA winning streak to win the Cup after being down 8-1 in a first to 9 event. It was a hard won regatta - both on the water and in the shop. Some of the last minute changes we made to USA 17:. Interceptor ramps on the transoms to increase lift on the aft section of the boat during maneuvers and upwind skimming .

Building a Brown/Bieker Proa. Construction of a 32 foot Jester Class Offshore Proa. Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Last Carbon on Mainsheet Beam. After a bit of fairing to level any previous layup seams, I have applied the final layer of carbon. There was some creative clamping going on. I skipped vacuum bagging to avoid wrinkling. Monday, May 26, 2014. Riptide 55 out cruising. We just received a nice note from TJ Durnham, the current owner of Rocket Science. Rocket science is the first keel boat that I designed (back in 1998). She is a long, lean and lightweight performance cruiser with hard chines and twin rudders. After 16 years she still looks cutting edge. Sunday, December 30, 2012. An Update to our 32 foot Proa Design. In the last few weeks the 32 foot proa that we have been working on with proapist Russell Brown (more on Russ). This is possible due to the moderate surface area and low structural loading of a proa compared to other types of multihulls. One of the interesting characteristics of the pacific proa as compared to most multihulls is that they excel upwind. This can be seen in the attached VPP output for the boat:. 1st on Corrected Time.

Sunday, May 18, 2014. 26 ft Power Cat Launch. Gordy and Judy Cole launched their 26 foot power cat Slightly Dangerous. Today in Seattle. She is named after a WWII P-38 Lightning and sports graphics to match. They did a beautiful job on the build and finish. Is not a kit boat really, but all the plywood and foam parts were NC cut for easy assembly. The hulls are 9 and 6mm Okoume ply, finished off at the bow with a foam crash-box. The deck is 3" blue foam with 4mm ply skins and the house is 6mm.

Building a Brown/Bieker Proa. Construction of a 32 foot Jester Class Offshore Proa. Thursday, June 18, 2015. Dry Fitting first Ama Hull Panels. I got the bulkheads firmly attached and then moved on to the main ama panels. These were wired together at both bows and then dropped as a envelope over the bulkheads. Some of the bulkhead tabs required sanding to fit into the slots. The glass and epoxy had widened them. Future builders may want to skip glassing the tabs as much of it is sanded away.

Bieker Boats - Eric and Paul. Sunday, October 19, 2014. Lifeline railings and stanchions. I recently picked up the bow pulpit and lifeline railings from. RailmakersNW. They turned out really nice. The railings and stanchions have bases made of high. Density foam. These set is incorporated into a web. Reinforcement at the chainplates. The foam is glued to the inside of the cabin. This is the foam base for the forward starboard stanchion. Each foam base is covered with 3 layers of 200g carbon.
