All of that is to say that the thoughtfulness of finding out the right theme, matching the flowers to the theme, writing a sweet love note in the card, finding a card of the beach and so on shows effort. And that's all most women want. We want to know someone thought of us. A lot. We want to know someone made an effort on our behalf. It's not about extravagance. That's funny. I would not have know that.

Sunday, June 15, 2008. The Happiest Sad Day. Our family just climbed out of the pool after a day of grilling out and relaxing together. Seeing my husband play in the water with his darling grandson was such a blessing this year. Our baby boy has blessed us all and this first Father's Day for my son-in-love was wonderful to observe. Or teaching me how to sing, he was diligent and patient and ever the teacher. He never let a teachable moment slip through his hands. I'm not mediocre, Dad. Thanks.

Friday, September 19, 2008. Adjusting to the Empty Nest. I wait for her car to drive up the driveway at night, but it doesn't. I listen for the door to open after she gets off work, but it doesn't. Last year was a trying time - the loss of my fulltime job, my husband's retirement, my daughter going off to college, my other daughter learning motherhood, and more. This year, very little has changed in my situation. I feel like I'm drifting a bit and I am wondering why? It's time to press in and find out. In the past 6 days, Ellen graduated, we hosted a big graduation party, Ann turned 27 and we celebrated with dinner and gifts, we all attended the 3-day/night revival at the Cobb Civic Center, I worked for several clients, Bob retired on Wednesday and had a luncheon on Tuesday, and we hosted 22 new moms at a pool party at our house. Sunday, April 3, 2011. Brent has the most amazing job in the world. Really, it's not a job. It's what he is called to do. No doubt. Sometimes it can leave us so busy. Not busy in a bad way, but just apart from each other as a family. Today, we had NO plans after church. This maybe the first day in 7 weeks we have had nothing planned! Thursday, July 3, 2014. So this May, I was lucky to go to two of my siblings' graduations. Both graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. It was a lot of fun to get to see family. Athena graduated in the morning in Education. The kids got a little bored, but were excited to see Athena. Ryan graduated in the afternoon in construction management. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. We have had a great Halloween! Last Saturday we went to our church's trunk or treat and then went trick or treating tonight. It was so fun watching the different personalities! Keagan had to sit back and observe and makinsey ran from house to house with no fear! We were able to go to great grams and gramps hunter and tiners houses. Then had dinner at Grammy and grandpa Tim's house. Dustin and Karlie came trick or treating with us! We love love love living close to family!

Just another WordPress.com site. September 3, 2011. 8212; ashleynewton @ 4:43 am. So I try to stop by our local Goodwill atleast once a week, usually on Fridays, but I NEVER have luck! I see all these neat things on Pinterest and other blogs and dream of a sweet little lamp or wooden “thing” waiting on me at Goodwill. Well…a couple weeks ago I finally had my moment! After picking up the little guy (he was only $.99) I continued to look and found the exact same jar for $.49! My $49 jar from Goodwill!

Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Swim Lessons, Day 2. Day 2 we had a lot fewer smiles.Reece was a little concerned as I put her swim suit on, but it wasn't until we started towards the car that she threw an absolute FIT! She calmed down a bit once we were in the car, but as soon as she saw Miss Glendy it was all over. We threw her in the pool anyway, and she ended up doing a great job! Conlee was an absolute FISH today! She looks so tall and grown up here.can't believe she's almost 3! Conlee tried to console her.
