literacy blog: February 2011
http://literacyblog2010.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 1, 2011. A Funny Turn of Events. I usually enjoy Christmas shopping, but this year is different. Babysitters for our two-year-old daughter are scarce early December as a round of “Mac Truck” flu rolls through the local high school. My husband has been working out of the area so I’ll have to shop when he is home on weekends. Saturday morning arrives with a fresh blanket of snow, icy roads and a forecast for more. 8220;I kiss my new sister, Mommy! Not a good choice today! I glance at the ...

Charmaine's Spot: In the Moment
http://charmainewilkie.blogspot.com/2011/03/in-moment.html
In the moment how do you know when it’s right? How do you know when you care too much and when you’ve gone too far? When do you get caught up in the moment and that it shouldn’t be? How can you say you’re in love when the person on the other side doesn’t reciprocate the feelings involved? How do you make it that both will be hurt in the least possible way? Can you go from being friends to being lovers? Can you go back to friends once you’ve been lovers and it doesn’t work out? Book of the Day. Fellow Blo...

Emily's Writing Blog: The Gym
http://emilythompson1.blogspot.com/p/gym.html
I walk into the gym at 4:55pm. The Body Combat class that I want to go to does not start until 5:30pm and there are already five people in line. I think to myself, I have time to get changed and then get in line. The gym has been very busy since the New Year and it is like a competition just trying to get a space in a class. Upon returning, the line is huge. I. Cannot believe this has happened. Have I lost my chance to go to the class now? There are now 25 people in line. Does that not matter? On this ev...

writing adele: The Calm Before the Storm
http://writingadele.blogspot.com/p/conversation-with-nan.html
My Steamy Stress Reliever. The Calm Before the Storm. Just a Witness to the Crime. The Calm Before the Storm. The quiet house sits still in the dark. For the rustling of slippers to come down the hall. For the first light to shine on a glimmer of open eyes. To open up to a new day. The floorboards creek under my feet as my tiptoes reach the sleepy corners of the walls. Myself and the house. All are asleep but me. The dog squints one eye and sighs, not bothering to join me yet. The morning shower steam.

writing adele: Winter Haiku
http://writingadele.blogspot.com/p/stay-close-through-storm.html
My Steamy Stress Reliever. The Calm Before the Storm. Just a Witness to the Crime. The mishmash of leaves. Burrow into street corners. Nights turn dark early. Creatures scurry seeking warmth. Snuggling soft, they wait. For winter to creep. And leave frosty morning dew. Frozen, white and calm. Trails start to appear. From gleeful strolls through nature. And fast flees for food. A cold breeze pushes. Against rosy cheeks and chins. Puffs of breath appear. Of noses and numbing ears. Comfort found in warmth.

writing adele: My 26th Birthday
http://writingadele.blogspot.com/p/my-26th-birthday.html
My Steamy Stress Reliever. The Calm Before the Storm. Just a Witness to the Crime. Once inside, I head straight for the elevators and push the button to take me up to the 4th floor. The smell of this place is nothing to get excited about and is definitely not where I was hoping to spend my 26th birthday. But, he is my family and we have celebrated all of my birthdays together. We can't miss this one on the fault that he slipped on the stairs. Would he look exhausted? A number 4 lights up above the doors ...
