Cookbook Immersion Project: April 2015

http://cookbookimmersionproject.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

One month, one book, one easily-distracted cook. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. FFwD: Cabbage and Foie Gras Bundles. I was prepared to make Dorie's Cabbage and Foie Gras Bundles. On schedule, a few months ago. I've had the foie gras in my fridge since November (don't worry, it hadn't expired yet.) How did I know it was from November? Because I had my friend, Hilary, pick some up for me while she spent a week in Paris, en route to Napoli, to visit us. May I just state that I feel like I live in an alternate u...

Not only have I managed to keep this alive for a month:. But I also cooked the two recipes from My Paris Kitchen. That were on the docket for June. Up first, albeit, late, was Fattoush. I also made Chicken Lady Chicken. Now, if only all the recipes in the book were as conducive to cooking with a newborn. June 14, 2016 at 5:18 PM. June 15, 2016 at 4:10 AM.

Cookbook Immersion Project: October 2015

http://cookbookimmersionproject.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html

One month, one book, one easily-distracted cook. Sunday, October 11, 2015. Yay, I'm posting on schedule for the first time in months. Woohoo! This week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe from Baking, Chez Moi. Is for Tiger Cakes. Mini-muffin-sized almond flour-based cakes that are supposedly reminiscent of a tiger's stripes because of the chocolate that is mixed into the batter. I don't know about that. I'm not seeing it. Regardless, these cakes are wonderful. They still taste good. A great boy." That este...

Cookbook Immersion Project: Bad and Good

http://cookbookimmersionproject.blogspot.com/2016/03/bad-and-good.html

One month, one book, one easily-distracted cook. Monday, March 14, 2016. The photo on the cover of The Food52 Cookbook. Is so well-shot, so accessible, so attractive, that it makes me want to eat Zucchini Pancakes. I made them for dinner last week. First of all, it broke my little adopted Neapolitan heart to pay $3.60 for 3 zucchini. That's $1.20 per zucchini! For a quick lunch, I made Yogurt and Spinach Dip "Borani Esfanaaj," In the Persian Manner. November 21, 2016 at 10:47 PM. Is this a Persian recipe?

I like to cook. and i like to bake my husband and friends can barely keep up. luckily, i have two nosy cats to help in the kitchen. rioja loves dinnertime. and manchego likes to tell me what's what. Twd: baking with julia: summer fruit pie. In my book, pie is a winter food, best left for graham cracker crusts and creamy pumpkin filling with the warmth of the oven and scent of nutmeg making a cheery end to a cold and dark evening. Why would you even wish to try? 0160; thats a different story. And now back...

Lola's Kitchen: FFwD - Baby Bok Choy, Sugar Snaps, and Garlic en Papillote

http://lolalive2day.blogspot.com/2014/04/ffwd-baby-bok-choy-sugar-snaps-and.html

TwDorie - Baking With Julia. Friday, April 18, 2014. FFwD - Baby Bok Choy, Sugar Snaps, and Garlic en Papillote. This French Friday recipe was simple enough but still I ended up making numerous trips to grocery stores trying to find baby bok choy! Finally on my second trip to Whole Foods I found it. I never found the baby white onions called for in the recipe and had to settle on middle aged ones. All was delicious and a glass of Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel. Our GO TO wine) made it complete! Get me a spoon.

TwDorie - Baking With Julia. Saturday, February 15, 2014. FFwD - Helene's All-White Salad. Oh, French Fridayers we lucky Oklahomans can see an END to winter! The rest of you have my sympathy but I am celebrating a break in the cold, ice and snow! Of course, soon I will be cursing the Wind, our next season. In Oklahoma Wind comes after and sometimes during winter. This was my first mayonnaise! This was one of the products featured at last year's International Food Bloggers Conference. never doubt Dorie | one expat's life

https://oneexpatslife.com/2015/06/05/never-doubt-dorie

One expat's life. Food, love, and life in Germany. Play it again Dorie →. After 4 plus years of cooking along with the French Friday’s with Dorie crew, we have come to the end and are now reminiscing about all the wonderful food we have cooked together. This week’s challenge is to write about a moment when we may have doubted Dorie. First, I was VERY skeptical the week we made Ricotta-Filled Zucchini Blossoms. And Gnocchi a la Parisienne. Second up, Beggar’s Linguine. Salmon in a Jar. Play it again Dorie...

TwDorie - Baking With Julia. Friday, March 28, 2014. FFwD - Vegetable Barley Soup with the Taste of Little India. Vegetable Barley Soup with the Taste of Little India. This week's French Fridays with Dorie. Recipe is seasoned with garam masala. I don't care for garam masala. Whole Foods sells it in the bulk spice section so I didn't have to buy much. I knew I wouldn't want to cook with it often. In fact, I was prepared to dislike this soup entirely. So, happy surprise! I'm behind in my blogging! This wee...

TwDorie - Baking With Julia. Friday, November 22, 2013. I don't have much to say about this one. It wasn't a favorite though Gary wanted to like it. He tried really hard but couldn't do it. It needs something, cheese maybe? It was dark so I couldn't even get a good picture. Moving on to next week's recipe and holiday cooking. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! TwDorie - Baking With Julia. My relationship with Dorie is off to a fabulous start! I can't say the same for my food blogging experience.
