Breathe, Live and Smell The Roses...: August 2012
http://cikguz.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Breathe, Live and Smell The Roses. Lifereality and the-not-so real! Friday, August 31, 2012. While waiting for my turn at the bank yesterday, I saw this young lady with a baby who is less than a year old came in. The mother took her number, filled up the form and then quietly sat at the front row, I was sitting right at the back seat of hers. The baby stared at me with her big beautiful dark eyes. Then she smiled, ahh. no teeth! And I keep wondering. Links to this post. Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!

ANAGRAM OF A GAZING EYE: Ayanda & Asio
http://mumakeith.blogspot.com/2015/01/ayanda-asio.html
Jan 7, 2015. The wait. The anxiety. Dozens of steps had been made. The nurses, often, looked at me. Giggled. Then they were back to work. At 1130hours, the wait was over. Ayanda was here. The mother, Asio, was fine. Only she can explain the pain she had been through. She looks like you," she said. "No she doesn't. She look like you," I say. "She looks like you," she said. "No she doesn't. She look like you," I say. [This debate is still ongoing. It will probably never end.]. Asio is the heroine. I am jus...

MILLERWRITES: Question Everything! Even This?
http://millerwrites.blogspot.com/2013/04/question-everything-even-this.html
The 'BARKING OWL' always has so. Mething to say, and like the feathered version, can be either WISE.or ANNOYING! THE PROVERBS 31 PROJECT. Friday, April 19, 2013. A few years ago I was reading a magazine about creation science in the shipyard lunchroom. Another carpenter friend came by and asked me "Are you open minded about that? I thought about it for a minute but finally said "no.". I don't think so. Who do you know that is credited for questioning the theory of evolution, for example? Secondly, we mus...

ANAGRAM OF A GAZING EYE: January 2014
http://mumakeith.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Jan 20, 2014. We were not duped on Electricity Tariffs. We simply didn't tell the story. So which story did we pick on? Perhaps not. Yes we had all these deadlines to beat and file stories for our newsrooms but this matter needed to have explored further to actually point out to the consumer that this reduction was - on paper - a reduction but in broader terms an increment or no change at all. I'd done my own calculation, but here is one done by a journalist on Facebook group wall:. I think journalists n...

ANAGRAM OF A GAZING EYE: October 2014
http://mumakeith.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Oct 17, 2014. Dear reader, I apologize. The newsroom is like a marketplace. We trade news. Some say we peddle rumors. We are criticized more often than not. A reader opens the newspaper and from page one, they shred whatever we are writing. The majority – of Ugandans - do not have access to the newspapers. On radio stations, time is dedicated for shows on political, health, education and economic issues. The next day we move on to the next story. Still, the reader expects no excuses. They expect a st...

The company, in a statement says they have spent close to US$2.8bn in Uganda in the last 10years. Investors were told that “Ngassa has been written off due to...

ANAGRAM OF A GAZING EYE: November 2013
http://mumakeith.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Nov 26, 2013. Dear Hon. Tumwebaze, thank you for showing us how "things" can be done. It is a melancholy object to those who walk through this great town, or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads, and cabin-doors crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags, ad importuning every passenger for an alms," Jonathan Swift, A Modest Proposal. Dear Hon. Frank Tumwebaze,. I wonder why we don’t adopt such an approach for them. I know you have ...
