Engineering the Taste: Barbie Cake

http://engineeringthetaste.blogspot.com/2013/09/barbie-cake.html

Every young engineer needs something their own diversion from the working world. baking is mine. Saturday, September 21, 2013. I made this for my roommate's birthday this year. She helped me make it and we had a lot of fun. I always thought the barbie in the cake looked a bit too much like it belonged on Cake Wrecks. But this one ended up looking alright. Structural integrity issues aside. We also originally didn't have enough cake. some improvisation with cake scraps occurred. View my complete profile.

Every young engineer needs something their own diversion from the working world. baking is mine. Sunday, January 18, 2015. 1 1/2 cups chopped onion. 2 cloves minced garlic. Salt and pepper (to taste, I don't add much of either). 2 cans evaporated milk (370 ml each). 5 cups broth (chicken or veggie broth, I used low-sodium chicken broth). 5 cups broccoli florets, diced into small-ish pieces (This was about 4 broccoli crowns for me). 1/4 tsp dried thyme. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.

http://engineeringthetaste.blogspot.com/2013/11/amazing-brownies.html

Every young engineer needs something their own diversion from the working world. baking is mine. Friday, November 22, 2013. This is a truly amazing brownie recipe. Very rich and chocolatey. I've been meaning to post the recipe for a while but I keep forgetting. It kind of has weird measurements. 2 1/4 sticks of butter or margarine (about 1 cup 2 tbsp). 2 1/4 cups sugar. 3/4 cup 1 tbsp flour. 3/4 cup 1 tbsp cocoa. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Engineering the Taste: April 2013

http://engineeringthetaste.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Every young engineer needs something their own diversion from the working world. baking is mine. Monday, April 1, 2013. A couple weeks ago it was my boyfriend's birthday. I really wanted to make him a cake, but he lives about 8 hours away during the school year and cakes don't mail very well. So, I made him cookies instead! It's one of his favourite shows, so I figured he'd enjoy them. I made them with my sugar cookie dough. And then decorated with royal icing,. Then my roommates and I ate the rest.

Every young engineer needs something their own diversion from the working world. baking is mine. Saturday, August 31, 2013. This is a classic in our house. Engineering the Run

Sunday, October 17, 2010. Bishop Ireton Cardinal 5k Race Report. 27:10 (crushed my goal time). 3rd place in my age division (20-29 female). My prize was a pair of way-too-big-even-for-my-husband socks. haha. I pretty much followed my plan. Started out fast, dialed it back half-way, and I finished strong. I wish I wouldn't have slowed down so much around 2.25 miles. Overall I'm very happy, and I'll work on my stamina for next time. I'm not complaining, because something is better than nothing. Seriously p...
