The Tesla Model S will disrupt like the iPhone (thoughts on my Model S test drive experience). They run ads for a vaporware electric car that looks amazing. Who knows when it will be available? The Tesla Model S is real and delivering today (well, if you signed up a couple of years ago). And I hit the jackpot. I’m sure people can and will find faults with bits ...

Today I visited the royal city of Koh Ker, abandoned in 944 A.D. It’s about 130km or more from Angkor Wat. I was the only one here at Prasat Pram. This was my favorite place there, where the trees seem to explode out of the top of these thousand year old temples. No Comments ». Feed for comments on this post. I was wandering near my hotel in Edinburgh the other day, and being somewhat esurient, was on the lookout for vittles. I chanced across this appallingly bad name for a restaurant. I wasn’t able to determine if this was a local delicacy. Unfortunately they were closed or I’d have gotten a better picture. A while back I wrote. Better ...

The Grue Next Door: January 2015
http://thegruenextdoor.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
The Grue Next Door. Friday, January 30, 2015. The Long Overdue Titles Post. In this earlier post. I shared my new approach to stripping away class. As a quick refresher, instead of choosing a class, players choose a Focus for their character at first level and each time they level up. Here are the base stats for all starting characters, and the details of each Focus:. 1 AB / -4 AC. 4 AB / 1 AC. Choose one at first level and when leveling up:. Some thoughts/reasoning/nuts and bolts:. Okay, now onto Titles!

The Grue Next Door: A Stranger Referee
http://thegruenextdoor.blogspot.com/2015/04/first-off-are-you-really-reading-review.html
The Grue Next Door. Monday, April 20, 2015. First off, are you really reading a review about an awesome, free RPG product that you could just go download right now and read instead? Seriously, go do that:. Ah, I get it. The book is long, maybe it's not worth your time and trouble to download and read, eh? I'll try and summarize its finer points here, then. 1) This apparently is your only chance to get "A Stranger Storm." This is a great little adventure, which I'll talk more about later. At some point I ...

The Grue Next Door: July 2014
http://thegruenextdoor.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
The Grue Next Door. Wednesday, July 23, 2014. As I figure out this OSR thing more and more, I'm realizing the point behind things that I never understood. (What's the difference between rations and iron rations? Why does the party need a linkboy? What is block and tackle? Learning the ins and outs allows me to not only run things "correctly" but also to tweak things so that I can run it "correctly" the way I want to. I love player handouts, so I've created this brochure called " The Adventurer's Outfitter.

The Grue Next Door: August 2015
http://thegruenextdoor.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
The Grue Next Door. Sunday, August 16, 2015. How's the View at Scenic Dunnsmouth? First, there are major spoilers here, so I wouldn't recommend reading this if you're a player. That said, this is one of the few adventures that changes drastically depending on who's running it, so even if you are a cheater this might not help you much! The third way is providing a book that generates a different setting each time. Some other books that do this include Vornheim, Red and Pleasant Land. Other adventures, so ...
