Ginger Goes to Uganda!: Gulu and Hoima

http://gingerinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/06/gulu-and-hoima.html

Ginger Goes to Uganda! Tracing my experiences while I'm in Uganda so that everyone can follow. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Just getting ready for the week and the mentor meeting on Friday. Got our approval from the UNCST. It feels like a dream. Also we should have the pictures up soon, so be on the look out. Cheers! The meeting went well, and it seems like they might be interested in partnering with SAS in the future. We continued on our way to Gulu via Masindi eating mangoes like apples and stopping to ...

I’m afraid that I don’t have that much to write about because we are scrambling to get as much done as possible this week. We finally got all the data entered at student number 3335. That’s a lot! July 11, 2011 at 8:38 PM. Leaving for chicago on wed. Luv Mom. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Some information about me and wha...

Ginger Goes to Uganda!: Week 7

http://gingerinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/07/week-7.html

Ginger Goes to Uganda! Tracing my experiences while I'm in Uganda so that everyone can follow. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. I’ll try to write before I leave about the trip and be sure to check out the absurd number of pictures we will upload . We also had to pull US dollars for our trip because the national parks take dollars if you are not a Ugandan. It is odd to think about how much the US dollar impacts things here and how the citizens are holding their government responsible. Part of me thinks, wha...

Ginger Goes to Uganda!: July 2010

http://gingerinuganda.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Ginger Goes to Uganda! Tracing my experiences while I'm in Uganda so that everyone can follow. Saturday, July 31, 2010. Our last week…. We were pretty tired to day, so we spent most of the time at home and only went out for Thai food. Jude went with us, and he and Meagan had never had sticky rick with mango before. It was a pretty big hit between the two of them, especially Jude, who is a particularly picky eater. Monday, July 26, 2010. Thursday, July 22, 2010. Look forward to more posts on Sunday. World...

Ginger Goes to Uganda!: June 2010

http://gingerinuganda.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Ginger Goes to Uganda! Tracing my experiences while I'm in Uganda so that everyone can follow. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Happy Birtday to Me. Today is my birthday, and it has been very pleasant so far. I decided to buy a swim suit and go swimming at the fancy pants club where I had the incident with the vice president last year. I really enjoyed laying out by the pool and reading. I took a dip and swam a few laps, but the pool was cold! Meagan has gone out to do a few things with the foundation. Our trip...

Nikki in Kampala, Uganda: June 1-9th 2011

http://nikkiinkampala.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-1-9th-2011.html

Nikki in Kampala, Uganda. Thursday, June 9, 2011. It’s been a crazy week or so and I finally feel as though I’m getting my bearings. They tasted like a smoky earthy bacon-y spice. When we had the grasshoppers they tasted alright, but were really crunchy and I didn’t appreciate them as much as Ginger, who was dipping them in ketchup like French fries saying they tasted like soft shell crab. 8221; All you can do is shake your head and smile. Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011: July 1st to July 13th

http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/07/july-1st-to-july-13th.html

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. July 1st to July 13th. Today I am really tired. We worked on writing all day and making plans about our trip to the west. We hope to meet Mary’s family when we go. So excited! Today was a good day. We also met Seith, our driver for our trip west. He helped us come up with a plan and decide on our budget and what we want to do when we get there. Things are falling into place right at the end how they always do. Somehow. http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/06/66-116.html

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Sunday, June 12, 2011. I am definitely sick. It feels like a sinus infection and I have the worst headache ever. The only difference between this and a normal sinus infection that I’ve had is that I’m exhausted and slept almost all day. Ginger and Nicole were really sweet and brought me some Sudafed from the store. I sound like a frog. Yay for Z packs! 8221; which means “yes please! 8221; it was hilarious. Today we went to Kyngera and I had a great time there last year, so I w...

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011: July 2010

http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Today we tried hard to find out any news about the bombings. Unfortunately, there was a problem with our internet so we had to rely on newspapers (most of which only showed graphic photographs of the deceased) and local news channels on the television. It was difficult to find any information, because people were still being treated at the hospital and officials were really still trying to figure out what happened and why. Nothing from the UNCST or Pre...

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Saturday, April 10, 2010. Preparing for our trip. I am preparing to leave for my research trip to Uganda! As my practicum project for my Master's degree, I am conducting summer research there! So far, my research partner Ginger and I have been very lucky to recieve funding from private donations we acquired from fundraising, and also from the International Study Abroad Office. We feel very fortunate, and hopefully we will not have to pay much out-of-pocket for this trip.

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Tuesday, August 3, 2010. July 29th through August 3rd. Afterwards, we went and bought an “eggroll.” If you remember, about a month ago we realized that eggrolls are an entirely different substance here. See the pictures to appreciate the initial hilarity of this discovery. 8221; and pulling on your hands trying to sell you things. At one point, a man came behind us yelling, “Muzungu, I have stamina! 8221; Haha. The market is a pretty intense experience. I would be afra...We en...

http://nikkiinkampala.blogspot.com/2011/05/end-of-amsterdam-and-beginning-of.html

Nikki in Kampala, Uganda. Saturday, May 28, 2011. End of Amsterdam and Beginning of Uganda. I’m sorry for the delay in posting! Between keeping the blog, diary, logbook for contacts and budget, and field notes there is a lot of writing. I should manage to write more regularly though as we have settled into a rhythm in our apartment and have secured internet access. May 22nd, 2011. May 23rd, 2011. http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/06/126-to-226.html

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Thursday, June 23, 2011. We decided to walk home. Later on, we met our friend Pharouk at a local hang out nearby. We also got an email from the UNCST today saying that we could resubmit our research proposal from last summer. Apparently it’s been misplaced. For now, we have temporary approval to begin our data collection, but I’m not really sure what that means exactly. We’re not in Russia! 8221; His accent was really very different from Ugandans and I especially liked the way...

http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/06/531-64.html

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Sunday, June 5, 2011. Today I woke up at 8 am, again! Later, Moses came over. It’s his 2 year anniversary with his girlfriend, Sonja, and we had arranged for them to have a skype date. It was a slow day, and I am anxious to begin work tomorrow. It’s too risky! It’s such a fantastic idea, and much appreciated. We watched Seinfeld when we got home, which always makes us happy. Thanks, Mike, for letting me bring a few DVDs! Eggs and toast for breakfast! gingerinthesix – Fun in Toronto!

The Toronto Baker’s Market. The Toronto Baker’s Market. December 10, 2016. Every month, the Toronto Baker’s Market. Is held in the city’s east and west ends. The one I went to last Sunday with my friend Rita was held at the Great Hall on Queen West. It’s no secret that I enjoy a baked treat. So when I heard about this market full of treats, I practically ran there. And by ran there, I mean ran to catch an Uber since I was feeling particularly lazy that day. Pop Tarts from Sugar Rush Bakery. At this point...

Ginger in Training | My Training Journey

November 10, 2012. Gosh, its been 9 months since I have been on here. In that 9 months I have become incredibly selfish, stingy, guarded and isolated. My self and my home are no longer open and welcoming. I am ready and willing to vomit up many reasons and excuses. But in the end, I am left with just my own sin. They have spend holidays with us. They have used our showers. I have done their laundry. My family has hung out at their camp for countless hours. I used to love having them over. February 6, 2012.

Sunday, July 15, 2007. I was honored last week to meet 6 week old Johnny Wujick. He was looking intensely at everyone around him (except me) but he wasn't crying while I was holding him (which is GOOD! Bill actually made him smile. But I have to admit, the person he was most infatuated with, was his mom, Sarah. The Wujick's and the Eseltine/Feretto's squeezed in a heated and highly debated game of Scattergories, between crying/feeding episodes, about three hour chunks. Posted by gingerish @ 6:34 PM.
