http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/07/july-1st-to-july-13th.html
Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. July 1st to July 13th. Today I am really tired. We worked on writing all day and making plans about our trip to the west. We hope to meet Mary’s family when we go. So excited! Today was a good day. We also met Seith, our driver for our trip west. He helped us come up with a plan and decide on our budget and what we want to do when we get there. Things are falling into place right at the end how they always do. Somehow. Do mosquitoes transmit HIV?

Ginger Goes to Uganda! Tracing my experiences while I'm in Uganda so that everyone can follow. Thursday, June 23, 2011. Doing some last minute things before we leave tomorrow. We won’t be back until Tuesday evening, which means that we’ll be out of touch till Wednesday or so. I’m really excited! Especially for Gulu. We are supposed to get there on Sunday, which I hope will give us time to see the city and maybe the surrounding areas before we meet with mentors and schools. In my mind I keep thinking, ...

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011: 6/6 - 11/6
http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/06/66-116.html
Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Sunday, June 12, 2011. I am definitely sick. It feels like a sinus infection and I have the worst headache ever. The only difference between this and a normal sinus infection that I’ve had is that I’m exhausted and slept almost all day. Ginger and Nicole were really sweet and brought me some Sudafed from the store. I sound like a frog. Yay for Z packs! 8221; which means “yes please! 8221; it was hilarious. Today we went to Kyngera and I had a great time there last year, so I w...

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011: July 2010
http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Today we tried hard to find out any news about the bombings. Unfortunately, there was a problem with our internet so we had to rely on newspapers (most of which only showed graphic photographs of the deceased) and local news channels on the television. It was difficult to find any information, because people were still being treated at the hospital and officials were really still trying to figure out what happened and why. Nothing from the UNCST or Pre...

Ginger Goes to Uganda! Tracing my experiences while I'm in Uganda so that everyone can follow. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Just getting ready for the week and the mentor meeting on Friday. Got our approval from the UNCST. It feels like a dream. Also we should have the pictures up soon, so be on the look out. Cheers! The meeting went well, and it seems like they might be interested in partnering with SAS in the future. We continued on our way to Gulu via Masindi eating mangoes like apples and stopping to ...

http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Saturday, April 10, 2010. Preparing for our trip. I am preparing to leave for my research trip to Uganda! As my practicum project for my Master's degree, I am conducting summer research there! So far, my research partner Ginger and I have been very lucky to recieve funding from private donations we acquired from fundraising, and also from the International Study Abroad Office. We feel very fortunate, and hopefully we will not have to pay much out-of-pocket for this trip.

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011: August 2010

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Tuesday, August 3, 2010. July 29th through August 3rd. Afterwards, we went and bought an “eggroll.” If you remember, about a month ago we realized that eggrolls are an entirely different substance here. See the pictures to appreciate the initial hilarity of this discovery. 8221; and pulling on your hands trying to sell you things. At one point, a man came behind us yelling, “Muzungu, I have stamina! 8221; Haha. The market is a pretty intense experience. I would be afra...We en...

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011: 12/6 to 22/6
http://meaganinuganda.blogspot.com/2011/06/126-to-226.html
Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Thursday, June 23, 2011. We decided to walk home. Later on, we met our friend Pharouk at a local hang out nearby. We also got an email from the UNCST today saying that we could resubmit our research proposal from last summer. Apparently it’s been misplaced. For now, we have temporary approval to begin our data collection, but I’m not really sure what that means exactly. We’re not in Russia! 8221; His accent was really very different from Ugandans and I especially liked the way...
