Raising money for UNICEF. Hitting The Hills 2011. Day 15 – The Ullapool Conundrum. July 23, 2013. I awoke before dawn having slept poorly. I had drifted to sleep to the sound of midges hitting my bivvy. It had been like listening to the sound of rain on a caravan roof. The midges weren’t up yet but neither was my willpower. It wasn’t even 5am, I couldn’t walk without more sleep, so off I dozed. As far as roads go, this one isn’t fun. Well, it may be fun for motorcyclists, is has the special ref...Quick t...

2013 June | Hitting The Hills

http://www.hittingthehills.co.uk/2013/06

Raising money for UNICEF. Hitting The Hills 2011. June 30, 2013. Here we go again…. I’m off on another walk around Scotland. This time I’m going on my own… without a tent… with one week to prepare. The evidence suggests that I may still be crazy. I still have the slightly dodgy knee. I’m also still as optimistic as ever, so I’m looking to walk further and raise more than I have done during my previous shenanigans. The initial plan is to walk the West Highland Way. The Ring of Steall. And make a donation.

Day 19 – Cape Wrath | Hitting The Hills

http://www.hittingthehills.co.uk/2013/day-19-cape-wrath

Raising money for UNICEF. Hitting The Hills 2011. Day 19 – Cape Wrath. July 27, 2013. I unzipped my bivvy and got a face of midge. Inhaling midge is not particularly pleasant. I imagine you could achieve a similar sensation by attempting to snort cornflake dust. Some time and just a hint of self-pity later, I packed and was off. While I had been lying there in a pool of water I felt that maybe I was just about done after all. The sun shone down on the lighthouse I had seen blinking in the darkness from S...

Day 18 – Sunset over Sandwood Bay | Hitting The Hills

http://www.hittingthehills.co.uk/2013/day-18-sunset-over-sandwood-bay

Raising money for UNICEF. Hitting The Hills 2011. Day 18 – Sunset over Sandwood Bay. July 26, 2013. Today was the day that I would find out whether my route to Cape Wrath was blocked. It was a bright and breezy day; the only things I had to contend with were the clegs. Hitting The Hills 2013. I'm back, and this time I'm alone, unedited and aiming to raise another big chunk of money for a good cause. This time I'm raising money for UNICEF, so please do check out my UNICEF Page. And make a donation.

Hitting my Head with a Hammer

Hitting my Head with a Hammer. Because it feels so good when I stop. You think adventure is dangerous? Try routine, it is deadly. Paulo Coelho. Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Http:/ with.siouxfallssanta.com. Saturday, January 9, 2016. Maybe finally I'll make it to THAT DARIEN GAP. Last Winter I tried to walk through the Darien Gap, an adventurer's Mecca, leading from Columbia through jungle, across rivers and over the mountains. It stretches from North-Eastern Columbia to Panama, or vice-versa. Now, after luxu...

Amazing journeys to destinations unknown and places you need to check out for yourself. Sights, people, and places I have seen on my journey that you may want to visit. A year of heartache and loss has set me back from starting this page. If you know me personally, you know where my heart lies. I miss the people who made my life worth living. I hope to get past this dark place in my life and renew my ambitions of creating a page where I can see the world with new eyes. Take care friends.

I’m back in Cambridge and procrastinating over cleaning and fixing my equipment, so have instead sorted through my photographs and uploaded them to Facebook. You should be able to view them by visiting the Hitting The Hills Facebook Page. Here are a selection of my favourite photos:. The West Highland Way. Day 3 – About to be overtaken by a 10 year old girl on a bicycle. Day 4 – Aonach Eagach ridge walk. Loch on Day 11.

Hitting The Learning Curve | Continuous Improvement in School Leadership

Continuous Improvement in School Leadership. Hitting The Learning Curve. Insane Store Policy: An Analogy to Insane Grading Policy. It all started when my wife asked me if I could pick her up a flat iron at Walmart on my way home from work. Sure- that sounds simple enough. The “manager” (still not looking up): “Yes, I guess you can do that”. You have got to be kidding me! So standing there, I bought the item that I held in my hand, online, via my iPhone. Now technically owning the item, having paid fo...

Ponderings and Observations

Wednesday, July 15, 2015. How our we suppose to remember? Monday, June 22, 2015. I am helping a friend write some discipleship curriculum for a church he is starting out in Colorado and I get to help people explore the different forms of the Trinity and I figured I would share what I am writing here. I would like to start off with a question that Joan Osborne’s ask in one of her more famous songs and that’s "What if God was one of us? 2 If God is holy and His character unblemished, can or should we striv...

Hitting the Mark

Monday, 31 October 2016. As time grows shorter it looms. Weaving a fine robe. Righteousness and mercy kiss. Bride price paid carved in God's hand. Sunday, 30 October 2016. Finding a simple rhyme is rough. Like don't rhyme tough with through. Trying to keep it simple and clean. Is as overwhelming as a lean wave on the ocean. Sometimes the choices you view are few. Like thread from your new trousseau when you sew. Proper accent may not pass if you're in Kansas. You will certainly face a lot of laughter.
