Monthly Archives: February 2015. February 16, 2015. In a follow up to the last post EC2BKND. I decided to find out just how easy this was. I decided to cue into my day-to-day tasks to see what I would see. I needed data. And the way to gather data is by. To notice what was going on. The results are in. Here’s what I noticed: At times it. Easy to be kind; and at other times it wasn’t. No big surprise, right? I also found that sometimes it. Why would you be nice to (fill in name here)? I don’t think ...

Season of Darkness | Nancy's Blog

December 21, 2015. Wouldn’t that be great if our own personal “season of darkness” had that much predictability? That we could count on moving out of that phase in 6 months time? So often at this time of year we hear about happiness and joy and love. We see it on TV. We hear songs about it in the stores. We are bombarded with messages of hope and goodwill to all, etc, etc, etc. But for many this is a season of darkness. Where there is more darkness than light. If this is happening for you (or. Emotional ...

Monthly Archives: December 2014. December 29, 2014. End of the Year. The end of the year. It’s here again. The time when we hear a lot of talk about. Fresh starts, letting go, moving forward. Stuff like that. It’s a good idea. New Year’s Day is kind of a symbolic. I started thinking about why some things are relatively easy to release and others are not. What was different about these two categories? Some things you may realize are necessary to release. You know they’re holding you back, gettin...And yet...

March 7, 2016. I talked about how patterns are useful and also how they get set up automatically in response to something – often as a protection from pain. In this post we’ll look at how to transfer this idea from the physical realm to the emotional one. Pain is pain, right? Some sort of anger response – outright anger, testiness, irritation – something that makes the other person back off. Withdrawal – retreating, getting away from the perceived pain source. Eating, drinking, smoking, shopping etc.

Year in Review | Nancy's Blog

January 4, 2016. Then, several days later I was with a group of friends and we did our own version of “the year in review.” I, like everyone else readily chimed in with my own set of disasters that happened in 2015. I had no trouble recalling any of them. They seemed to be right at the tip of my tongue. And that bothered me. So, later on my own, I decided to do a year in review on all that went well. My thoughts were blank. Because I am quite confident that life will bring more hard stuff at some point.

March 21, 2016. Emotional Protection – Avoidance. It would make sense that we’d do that in the emotional realm too. If we get “burned” we’re going to avoid whatever hurt us. I mentioned several ways people do this – work,. Shopping, drinking, etc. The one I’m going to focus on here more specifically is working and general overall busyness because this category can get confusing. March 7, 2016. February 1, 2016. Last year I fell and broke my arm. I was in a. Here’s what was interesting though. Once I developed these protection patterns I forgot about them. I just now naturally protected my arm and hand and really didn’t think about it anymore. I did everything with one hand and even though that was really challenging I just did it. Pain is a great motivator, right? I could now use my left hand to help with things. Useful. And how they develop in other ways to protect us. Enter your comment here.
