Lost Roses: Fine and Feathery

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014/11/fine-and-feathery.html

Sunday, November 16, 2014. The miscanthus standing tall a few weeks ago. And the snow didn't beat it down. It still looks fine and feathery. Before I shovel my walks and driveway I brush the snow off the ornamental grasses. I have my priorities. Im glad that you were prepared! Keep warm and lets hope that the rest of the winter is milder and that we have an early spring! Outlaw, dont believe Im not thinking of your lovely greenhouse space when Im stuffing the house with holdover plants! California - Grow...

Lost Roses: June 2014

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 18, 2014. It looks like Monet just painted my garden. I love this app called "Waterlogue." I'm sure I'll be bored with it soon but for now here are the watercolor renderings followed by the real thing. So if you want to be an artist, apparently there's an app for that! Links to this post. Lost Roses: Hunting for summer

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2015/03/hunting-for-summer.html

Thursday, March 12, 2015. I just came back from a Mexico vacation. While I was in Mexico there was snowstorm after snowstorm at home. I felt bad for my neighbors who I knew were taking turns shoveling my walks and driveways while I walked the beach in search of sea glass. I have good neighbors. It called to me. But wait, was I being rash? Do I need another bedspread? Well, of course. Does it look too old lady-ish? Glad that its summer in your bedroom already! Brandi, if it werent for the change of season...

Lost Roses: Antlers?

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014/10/antlers.html

Sunday, October 26, 2014. Every blog I look at is featuring some fall decorating. Mantles are big, so are front porches. I did stick a little pumpkin on my porch thus depriving the squirrels of their usual carnage on the large display of pumpkins and gourds. But I decided that probably wasn't quite enough. Maybe a centerpiece for the table? I rooted around in the storage room and found this stuff. I cut the heads off my red hydrangeas, now a dusty rose. They'd still eat it. And here's what I came up with.

Lost Roses: December 2014

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 14, 2014. Signs of snow and Christmas. I like to read decorating blogs to see how out of touch I am. Right now they're all showing their winter mantels. Here's mine. The very summery chaise with its big pink and rose floral design gets a furry shrug for winter. Nice and cozy for TV watching and book reading. Easy to whip off when the warm breezes blow again. Behind that is the hutch with all my seashell stuff. It's year-round too. So I stuck some juniper and spruce branches from ...And m...

Lost Roses: Tomorrow

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2015/01/tomorrow.html

Sunday, January 04, 2015. I have to do it. I have to take down this long cedar swag hanging over the entry to the dining room. But look how dried out it is. I know what will happen. The minute I touch it there will be an immediate downpour of dried needles. A regular cloudburst. And that's carpet under it. Just look at this desiccated stuff. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. Note to self: next year don't be too lazy to go to the basement and haul out the fake stuff. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Colorado ...

Lost Roses: Winter sun

Random thoughts about gardening in the Denver area (zone 5), watching birds, and whatever. The above picture is not me. I don't look anything like this. Lost Roses: March 2014

http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 31, 2014. It looks like this bunny is racing to bring Spring weather and Easter eggs but bunny is not quite making it. A tease day here and there but the wind is howling now. Lazy gardeners prefer nice weather for their outdoor cleanup chores. Hasn't happened yet. Links to this post. Thursday, March 06, 2014. I walked the beach looking for sea glass. I found these seaweed-covered rocks. When the waves hit them they had streaming green hairdos. How about a refreshing drink of coconut milk?

A Life of Joy

A Life of Joy. A place to share Honeybee's Happenings. Sunday, August 26, 2012. Little Flowers Tea Party. We hosted a Little Flowers Tea Party to celebrate all of the saints we studied this year. My big sister Snuggle Bug and my mom, helped me to prepare the food the day before. We made flower shaped sugar cookies with blue sprinkles in honor of Our Lady, Queen of the Saints. We also had Lemonade. And Cheddar Muffins from Tea and Cake with the Saints. I had a wonderful time hosting my first tea.

Stop Halal and Kosher death without stunning! On April 30, 2014. Halal and mostly all kosher slaughterhouses, animals have their throats slit WITHOUT. Prior stunning (which would render them unaware to the pain.). Religious groups say stunning the animal would be against their interpretation of religious texts, thus they are granted an exemption to the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations 1995, which stipulates that creatures such as cows, goats and chickens be stunned first.
