Saturday, 20 September 2014. A break now and then is a good thing! A couple of weeks ago, my sweet hubby and I dashed off for a couple of days on a belated anniversary getaway ( we celebrated our 25th anniversary in August). We realized, aside from our trip here together to sort out houses when we moved to Nova Scotia, we had not been away on our own, without kids, for over 13 years! That is crazy, really. But we love our kids and love being with them, and really didn't think much about getting away.

Monday, 11 May 2015. The Simple Woman's Daybook for Monday, May 11, 2015. The sun is starting to disappear behind dark clouds, and it is breezy getting quite cool. It is hard to say if the sun is going to be coming out or it is going to rain! About how blessed I am to be a mom to these kids, and a Grammy! Flowers from my hubby! These are like mini tulips, they are so tiny! Gosh, roses even! One tiny broken one to watch me do dishes. This reminds me of the Ingall's house on Little House on the Prairie!

Saturday, 30 August 2014. Looking back on our summer break. It is hard to believe that Labour Day is almost here and summer vacation is over! It is not quite over for my family, as we take the first week or so of September "off", I try to fit in some field trips, trips to the beach, and basically unschooling. It works well for us!
