After about 3 hours of hiking up beautifully terraced hillsides and into dark bamboo forests, we stopped, and our guide whispered something and gestured in the direction of a small bush right in front of us. I peered over the greenery and my heart startled at the large black shape just two meters away. I was definitely within that sacred proximity! October 2, 2013.
