Justin the Chef: October 2008
http://justinthechef.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 24, 2008. Southern Lemon Chess Pie. Almost all recipes are variations on others, things borrowed from those who came before us. So I'm proud to post, as my first recipe, a pie that recipe that I borrowed from my brother. He received it from one of his friends mothers, who inherited it from her mother. You can use a store bought pie shell, but I highly recommend making your own. Homemade dough is easy and far exceeds anything that you are going to get from your grocery store. Remove the do...
Justin the Chef: Pacific Coast Seafood Chowder
http://justinthechef.blogspot.com/2009/01/pacific-coast-seafood-chowder.html
Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Pacific Coast Seafood Chowder. Along with living in Alaska and working at the wonderful Seven Glaciers Resort. I’ve lived up and down the Pacific Coast. In doing so I’ve learned to do what every do what every good chef does: pull from the locally available foods and recipes. The following recipe is a bit more complicated then the last one for Southern Lemon Chess Pie, but well worth the effort. Pacific Coast Seafood Chowder. 5 stalks of lemongrass cut into 1 inch pieces. In a s...

Justin the Chef: Rustic Shrimp & Vegetable Soup
http://justinthechef.blogspot.com/2009/05/rustic-shrimp-vegetable-soup.html
Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Rustic Shrimp and Vegetable Soup. This is a crowd pleaser that is both quick, relatively cheap for the quantity of food produced and extremely flavorful. There is nothing difficult or culinary demanding about this recipe, but it comes across as more than the sum of its components. Adapted from a rustic soup originating in small fishing village in Italy, this modern day reworking still evokes the simplicity of a coastal life while providing for contemporary palates. 2 tsp Old Bay.
Justin the Chef: Welcome to my blog
http://justinthechef.blogspot.com/2008/10/resume.html
Monday, October 20, 2008. Welcome to my blog. My hope is that I can help take any kitchen that I enter to a higher level of culinary understanding. So that the food that leaves is something that everyone is not only proud of, but sorry to see leave. It is a job that still remains underrated and underappreciated and I would have it no other way. Creating an environment where that is possible is the first step. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Southern Lemon Chess Pie. Welcome to my blog.

My Life in New York City. Please don't show my mom
My life in New York City. Please don't show my mom. Mar 9, 2018. I love the people that just come into work as if they just pulled off the bed covers and rolled right their chair into their desk– they haven’t showered, their hair is sticking up / in knots, and they have sleep caked in their shriveled little eyes, but they have clothes on and they’re physically seated at their desk, so employers are like: great. Can sleep very well. And tell you with fair amount of certainty if something tastes good or not.
Closet Clutters
Closet chronicles of an average confused, curious, and confirmed gay guy. Adj making you upset, dismay, disturb, uneasy. This is the feeling I really hate experiencing. It's like when something disrupts your current state and makes you feel uneasy and anxious. It's like having your brain think of a thousand thoughts all at the same time.
