never, never, never give up: May 2008
http://davinasummers.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 26, 2008. Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to win is (Vince Lombardi). My main road cycling goals for the year, thus far, have been:. Win (SRS) Pemberton criterium and Road Race- because it was my first road race ever (last year) and I came very last and remember the feeling like it was yesterday (won them both). Win a stage at (NRS) Tour de Perth (won 2 stages). Win a stage at (NRS) Mooball, NSW (won the TT stage, a little unexpected, but nonetheless meeting the goal). In the other stat...

never, never, never give up: Bonkfest and beyond
http://davinasummers.blogspot.com/2008/09/bonkfest-and-beyond.html
Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Sunday 7th September- SPR Hills ride. All was good until we got to the base of Greenmount and Luke had decided that he had ridden far enough before work and turned around. A few hills later we lost a few of the women, then the crash. A few of the guys in front of me went down, the crash was happening in slow-motion and it was like…is this really happening? All were okay minus some lost skin, a broken rear derailleur and the usual bike scrapes. Labels: Bonkfest- SPR ride.

never, never, never give up: The decisions, outcomes and achievements of today, affect tomorrow. There is no clean slate.

Saturday, September 13, 2008. The decisions, outcomes and achievements of today, affect tomorrow. There is no clean slate. The week in summary: too many hours on the bike left little time to plan and organize. Base kms, base kms, base kms…just ticking them over. Thankfully I have had plenty to daydream about this week. It has kept my mind off not drinking diet coke (for the most part) anyway. This weekend our Plan B Team is entered into the Cyclosportif Grand Fondo. Til next time- ride lots. 1st SRS- Pem...

December 8, 2007. Australia's women's road team consisted of only three riders; Bridie O'Donnell, Ruth Corset and myself - Davina Summers was also representing Australia as a club nomination. The four of us were certainly outnumbered by the twenty five kiwis. We knew we needed a clever race plan to bea...The f...

never, never, never give up: March 2008
http://davinasummers.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 25, 2008. On a brighter note: my club NDCC have profiled me for this month; http:/ www.northerndistrictscycleclub.com/. It is good for a laugh. I completed an ATTA club race this week and the race comments were: Davina Summers was the second fastest woman around the course and to achieve this she removed almost two minutes from her previous best and, in doing so was another to join the 40 kph club. Sunday, March 16, 2008. WA Women Cycling Forum. Tuesday, March 4, 2008. 29 year old female.

There are some other competitors from WA going, but no women. The men are racing a longer course and commencing in Grafton. We will see them at presentations.
