Kayla's PR Blog: Ethics Week 5

http://kaylaprblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/ethics-week-5.html

Monday, August 24, 2009. This week’s reading on ethics left a lot to consider. I think the two key points to consider were that despite the lack of solid theory surrounding PR as a profession the concept of is held highly. It is important to keep in mind that being ethical does not simply mean for a practioners activities to comply with the law. Ethics is essentially is a multifaceted term that can include many stakeholders. With an emphasis placed on the importance of transparency in last week reading, ...

Kayla's PR Blog: Two way communication and communities

http://kaylaprblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/two-way-communication-and-communities.html

Monday, August 31, 2009. Two way communication and communities. This week’s readings allowed me to establish links between strategic planning and communities and PR. I found the two most important points is that there is an increasing importance placed on communicating with communities, and also the increasing awareness of PR practitioners to the social impact of their organisations (Johnston and Zawawi, 2009). Kayla's PR Blog: Super Sponsorship?

http://kaylaprblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/super-sponsorship.html

Monday, September 7, 2009. This weeks readings made me consider the relationship between sponsorship and research and the effects of neglecting ongoing research to an organisations image. In the outcome stages the success of the campaign can be measured. As sponsorship can be a very costly tactic it is important to identify if it has been helpful to your clients image. Kayla's PR Blog: Media Relations

http://kaylaprblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/media-relations.html

Monday, August 17, 2009. I found both of this weeks reading very interesting, particularly the role of media relations and how complicated it can be given the wide media landscape and reports that claim people are in contact with two media channels simultaneously. Of course there are appropriate situations when mainstream media is the most practical solution for media relations. We can learn from Chong’s reading (2006) how Singapore managed the SARS epidemic amongst a time of panic. Prue mentioned that i...

Kayla's PR Blog: Is social media considered a PR tactic?

http://kaylaprblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/is-social-media-considered-pr-tactic.html

Thursday, September 17, 2009. Is social media considered a PR tactic? H ey guys, I have mixed up the order of the last two blogs. The most important points of the tactics and Public Relations in business readings were that in terms of tactics; there is no right or wrong. The tactics that are used should reflect the nature of the business, who they want to reach and whether the tactic is controlled or not. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Absharina's PR Blog: August 2009

http://cmns1290absharina.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 31, 2009. Week 6 - Communities and Public Relations. Chapter 13 by Kate Fitch. This chapter I think really reflect on what exactly happening now a days in the community. Many organisations involving the community to participate in their PR campaign especially the government and health and wellbeing organisations. It's a simple chapter but I guess I was too occupied preparing for my debate I wasn't concentrating enough. After reading the chapter twice, it becoming clearer. Week 5 - Ethics.

Monday, September 7, 2009. Week 7 - Tactics and PR in Business. Chapter 8 by Marian Hudson. As to what I remember in the previous reading n strategy and planning, tactics are the actions to achieve the objectives and sometime one tactic can be use in to two objectives. This week's reading I find it is the most interesting one, so far. Many practitioners have used good media relations tactics in their successful PR campaign. Tactics divided in to two majors:. Controlled - such as advertising, brochures.

http://cmns1290absharina.blogspot.com/2009/08/week-2.html

Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Week 2 - PR History and Theory. Chapter 1 by Jane Johnston, Clara Zawawi and Jeff Brand. Chapter 2 by Clara Zawawi. Before I took this course, my understanding of Public Relations (PR) was about a company or a person's reputation in the public eye. And the role of a PR person is to be responsible for controlling that image, so that the public will always see the positive side. But after I finished this weeks reading, I understand that it is actually a lot more than that.

Absharina's PR Blog: Week 4 - Media Relations

http://cmns1290absharina.blogspot.com/2009/08/week-4.html

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Week 4 - Media Relations. A crisis of epidemic proportions: What communication lessons can practitioners learn from the Singapore SARS crisis? Issuing media releases is a PR role to make sure the media get news materials. These media releases have to be accurate in answering six basic news questions: Who? Otherwise it'll look uninteresting and ends up in the bin or shame file of newsroom. So it is important for PR people to acknowledge themselves with PR writing skills.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Week 5 - Ethics. Chapter 5 by Lelde McCoy. Ethics, such a difficult word to describe. However the text book put a simplified term:. Standard of integrity. Doing the right thing.". Situation - The current situation that makes you have to decide. Values - Involving fairness, honesty, loyalty and advocacy. I've been working on my friend Holly's. Wedding invites this week. They've been really fun to do, mostly because the only direction I was given was 1) they wanted a drawing of them and 2) they wanted it in my handwriting. Sounds great to me. I wanted the invites to look like they had been torn from a page in my sketchbook. I feel like I've been waiting for a project like this to come around for awhile. This time comes but once a year, yes m'dears, it's time for my year-end lists. You could. The Octopus P...

And so the adventure continues…. October 11, 2013. Back to the Valley – Rafting on the Yoshino River (August 29, 2013). We loved Iya Valley so much, we knew we just had to go back! And we only waited two weeks to do so! Only this trip would have a whole lot less of the bridge crossing, mountain climbing, and backwoods driving, and a whole lot more of the life-jacket wearing, river jumping, and onsen going. We went rafting down the Yoshino River! Shikoku has some of the most beautiful rivers I’ve ev...

At Home With Kayla Price

Peas with Pearl Onions and Ham. 3 / 30 / 18. 3 / 19 / 18. Makes a tasty side and brightens the plate! Yummy is the only word to describe this dish! Of course, the creaminess of the peas combined with the salty ham and onions make it divine! And, it is so easy to make. 4 oz of gold pearl onions. 1 Tbsp unsalted butter. 1/2 cup cubes of pre-cooked ham (I use a slice from a spiral cut ham – you could also use bacon). 15 oz can sweet peas, drained, or 12 oz. frozen sweet peas. I love these little onions.
