Walking the Dingle Way. Hiking Day 1 – Tralee to Camp (Tra Li - An Com) 11 miles. Sunny – jacket weather. We took showers with no towels this morning (don’t ask) and supplemented the hostel’s breakfast of coffee and toast with the fruit and yoghurt from the grocery. Walking the Dingle Way. Jim and I are loading our backpacks today in preparation for Monday's flight to Dublin. We plan to spend a few days in the city, then take the train south to Tralee, on the Dingle peninsula. For the next 9 days, we will "walk the Dingle", staying in a different town each night, and hiking 11 - 18 miles each day. That's the plan (if the volcano ash allows). Walking the Dingle Way. We pulled on our full rain gear for the short walk to the train / bus station in Tralee this morning. I was anxious to leave the hostel, so we didn’t stay to make ourselves breakfast. The bus trip to Killarney took only 40 minutes. Walking the Dingle Way. Travelling to Tralee (Tra Li). Bright and sunny, jacket weather. They were very impressive looking works of art, with reserved car and seat numbers. Once we boarded the (immaculate) train, we found our names displayed via LCD over our respective seats – pretty cool. Monday, May 12, 2008. May 9, 2008. The ship docked in. At 8am, and US Customs and Immigration processed everyone on board in about three hours. Then we all had to remain on board while the collected luggage of 1000 passengers was hauled into a huge terminal building by forklift and unceremoniously dumped.
