Gin's thoughts: January 2011
http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Been reminded a bit about how some of my family are currently miles away. So I thought I'd post some photos to help them seem closer. When I 'rebooted' I also promised that I'd post a photo of the throw rug I was knitting up in England. Well here it finally is, I finished sewing it up last year but just hadn't got posting it yet. Posted by Gin Oak. Project - Chapter 5 (The final chapter). How do these descriptions and instructions fit within the framework of unity within the body of Christ? This involves...

The irony of it all. Just earlier this week I had people comment to me that doing personal interviews for yr 11 mid-year exams was such a good idea and that they wished they'd thought of it. My comment then was that I had to sit from 1pm to 3:40pm on Friday afternoon conducting them all and they were free to swap if they wanted. most didn't take me up on it. Now, I'm wishing they did. Hopefully the voicelessness wont be too much of a distraction for the students doing the interviews. Posted by Gin Oak.

Gin's thoughts: Project - Chapter 3 (and Merry Christmas!)
http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2010/12/project-chapter-3-and-merry-christmas.html
Project - Chapter 3 (and Merry Christmas! The first roles for women identified in the Bible involve companionship with men. Eve was created to be a helper and to become joined to Adam as his wife. [1]. By the New Testament times, women were still carrying out these companionship roles. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was promised to become the wife of Joseph. The importance of this role is emphasised by the dream Joseph has that ensures him of her purity. [3]. The companionship and complementary nature of men...

another something: Talk on Psalm 131 and Anxiety

Saturday, March 29, 2014. Talk on Psalm 131 and Anxiety. I’m the ill ease that you feel when you walk into a crowded room. You know, the hot and cold flushes that confuse you when you’re already confused enough. I am the one that raises the whip to your already racing heart. I am the tightening of your chest, the snowballing worries that feel like they might become an avalanche and just bury you in an instant. My friend, I am the obsessive and compulsive. You might have seen this ad on TV. Even for those...

Doing The Tourist Thing. In a quest to experience holiday living while on holidays, I suggested doing something touristy. Meet at Circular Quay at mid-day. Catch a ferry to Watsons Bay. Have fish and chips in the park looking towards the bridge. Catch a ferry back to the Quay. Catch a ferry to Milsons Point (via Darling Harbour). Walk across the Harbour Bridge back to the Quay. Gin's thoughts: December 2006
http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
After a drizzly and cold day, we are finally in the rectory. There are still lots of boxes to unpack but having slept there for one night now, it feel good and quite manageable. Also, I picked up my textbooks and programs for next year. Look out students, here I come! Posted by Gin Oak. I'm still working on the other verses, but here's the first. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. With all the mist around I see. When all the trees are hidden from sight. But when all the Christmas lights are bright.

Some may think a post to this blog is overdue, to them I reply: it's not the only thing. There will one day come a time when 'Coming home. part 2' makes an appearance (hopefully before it's first anniversary arrives) as well as many other interesting or quirky comments. In the meantime there are papers, essays and book reviews to be covered so the wait will have to continue. Posted by Gin Oak. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
