ELAINE'S!

Post #6 - Final Reflection. Now that we have come to the end of this semester, some of us may be rejoicing while the rest may even be panicking. However the truth is, at the end of these 13 weeks, I can say for certain that many of us are relieved that one module worth of responsibilities has finally been lifted off our shoulders. This is indeed something which is worth celebrating over. It is an achievement for us and I’m sure all of our efforts put in will be rewarded. (:. Furthermore, I have also deve...

ELAINE'S!: Post #4 - Evaluating Intercultural Behavior

http://littlepenguinn.blogspot.com/2011/03/post-4-evaluating-intercultural.html

Post #4 - Evaluating Intercultural Behavior. Before even attempting to ponder about fostering intercultural communication, it would be a good start to evaluate what culture is. I would use anthropology to define culture as the total sum of ways of living built up by a group of people and transmitting these ways (or not) from one generation to the next. This includes. The behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group: the youth culture; the drug culture, you name it.

Post #1 - Why the need to communicate effectively? Until next time, this is the little penguin, signing off. Said on January 23, 2011 at 2:28 PM. Haha yes, lab reports are the bane of every science students life. Even having read through the marking scheme for the lab reports, I still am not able to score as expected. If I ever scored for writing lab reports, its by copying lab reports! It is high time that we start writing our own lab reports and score As on our own merit! I particularly agree with the ...

ES2007s: I should have.....

http://andbyfaith.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-should-have.html

Saturday, February 19, 2011. Conflicts arise because of miscommunication and the lack of emotional intelligence. Some people manage their emotions well to prevent a conflict or resolve one quickly. These people are not angered easily in tense situations. There are others who get impatient and quickly lose their cool, making a situation tenser, resulting in a conflict. I get impatient and quickly lose my cool. A few weeks later, my tutor asked me what was the final outcome. I mentioned that I had drop...

http://andbyfaith.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 22, 2011. Effective Communication and I. In today’s communication-driven world, learning and applying effective communication is necessary in the future (and even now in NUS). Although I am not quite sure what I will be working as after I graduate (there are many options), but I will just narrow it down to two. Should I become a researcher in the future, effective communication is a must. Why? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Effective Communication and I. View my complete profile.

Friday, April 15, 2011. Or the beginning, empowered with enhanced communication skills? I'm sure all of us feel the nostalgia as this semester comes to an end. I'm still thankful, though, for not having to wake up at 5.30 in the morning to make it for class at 8am on a Monday! How many of us still keep that piece of paper of first impressions? Do others' impression of you match what you think you are? The blogging component has led me to be more sensitive towards others, especially when giving comments&#...
