Stockings! | Miss Muffet Quilts
https://missmuffetquilts.wordpress.com/2014/12/19/stockings
We are getting close to Christmas so this is finish is none to soon! With the arrival of our daughter this year we are finally staying home for Christmas, this means that we actually need stocking at our house this year! I decided to make our stockings this year and had a jelly roll of Aspen frost by Basic Grey in the sewing room. I used the template from Imagine Gnats. And loosely used her tutorial, but used jelly roll strips instead. Linking up to: Needle and Thread Thursday. Finish it up Friday. You a...

Scrap-A- Palooza October 2014 | A Passion for Purple
https://juclarmi.wordpress.com/2015/01/04/scrap-a-palooza-october-2014
A Passion for Purple. January 4, 2015. Scrap-A- Palooza October 2014. I am happy to be linking up to Oh Scrap at Quilting is more fun than housework. Scrappy quilts are my favorite kind of quilts and I have been loving reading all of Cynthia’s great ideas. Here is one of the double 4 patch quilts. I gave one as a wedding gift and kept the other for myself. I cut the scraps into 2 1/2 inch pieces , chain pieced them together and alternated with long strips of cream to make this Scrap-A-Palooza quilt.

A Passion for Purple. Monthly Archives: December 2015. December 13, 2015. My local quilt shop is collecting Christmas stockings, they will be filled with toiletries and small gifts and given to women in need at Christmas. There are some fabulous stockings that have been contributed but not many scrappy stockings. I made these two stockings on the weekend as my contribution. I hope they bring some Christmas joy this holiday season. Linking to Oh Scrap at Quilting is more fun than housework.

A Passion for Purple. Monthly Archives: April 2014. April 21, 2014. Nearing the finish line. The grandmothers flower garden quilt is nearly done. I started this in March of 2013 and I am working on finishing the edges. For some reason I could not decide on how to finish the edges so my progress came to a halt as I contemplated this. Should I add half hexies, did I want to add a border fabric…what to do? I am just pleased that all the flowers are done and just the edges are left to finish.

A Passion for Purple. February 6, 2014. I have been working on my grandmothers flower garden quilt but have not taken photos lately. My original plan was to have this be 10 flowers wide by 12 flowers long. I am nearly there. I just need to add one more row of colored flowers and two more rows of cream colored flowers. I am linking up to Life under Quilts. January 6, 2014. Monday morning star count is back! I started in March of 2013 and am nearing completion of the basting and joining together of flowers...

Warning red wine and quilts don’t mix. | A Passion for Purple
https://juclarmi.wordpress.com/2015/01/18/warning-red-wine-and-quilts-dont-mix
A Passion for Purple. January 18, 2015. Warning red wine and quilts don’t mix. I reached for my glass of wine and….knocked it over , it spilled into the bag where I am keeping my hand pieced Grandmothers Flower garden quilt. Most of the full glass of wine went into the bag, a bit hit the carpet but the quilt absorbed most of it. My heart nearly stopped. I grabbed the bag, moved to the dining room away from the carpet and took out the quilt. The wine was everywhere! Lesson learned …I will be extra c...

Vintage Pillowcase Quilt | A Passion for Purple
https://juclarmi.wordpress.com/2015/01/12/vintage-pillowcase-quilt
A Passion for Purple. January 12, 2015. I have seen many vintage quilts made from sheets and knew that I wanted to make one. I decided that I would collect pillowcases instead of sheets so that I could have a large variety without ending up with too much extra yardage. This turned out to be one of my favorite quilts. It currently resides on my bed and just fits the top. Eventually it will be replaced when I complete the Grandmother Flower Garden quilt, I am currently hand quilting around the flowers .

For some reason I could not decide on how to finish the edges so my progress came to a halt as I contemplated this. Should I add half hexies, did I want to add a border fabric…what to do? This is how the edge looked. I decided to use 2 hexagons and fill in the spaces between the flowers and see what it looked like.
