Mathwire: Making Predictions

http://mathwire.blogspot.com/2012/03/making-predictions.html

What we learn with pleasure, we never forget! Friday, March 16, 2012. Making predictions is an important step in all data collection activities. After a brief explanation of the problem or experiment, students are asked to think about what they expect the results to be and make a prediction. The teacher leads a discussion of the predictions and the reasoning behind them, often posting these on chart paper for future reference during the data analysis phase. I recently read a study. It's a simple activity...

One of the activities we did was a letter sort. The kids did great! We have talked about rectangles this month. We practiced our fine motor skills when we did some rectangle stamping. http://jeremiespriggs.blogspot.com/2011/02/educ-6711-reflection.html

Sunday, February 20, 2011. Reflection: Personal Theory of Learning. Step 1: Reflection on Week 1. Ultimately, though, my way of thinking when I began teaching four years ago was to be the sole deliverer of information. We made wind socks out of crepe paper and paper plates. We talked about...
