http://alanshannon.blogspot.com/2014/09/meet-teacher.html
Hello dear friends and family. Most of you who know Alan would think we would have been the first ones to have a blog, but alas it is finally here! We hope you enjoy some snapshots of our normal life - that might not seem so normal as we live overseas - and enjoy keeping up to date with our family. Friday, September 19, 2014. Laura Cate was so nervous going to meet the teachers, but as soon as she stepped into the classroom her fears were relieved! Laura Cate outside her classroom door. From Grits to Rice.

TAR HEEL Thoughts, Texas Style. Friday, November 26, 2010. You know I can't pass up a good photo op :). This year since the Jenkins have moved to Singapore we had a major dilemma on our hands as of what to do. After much deliberation me and some of my single gal friends without family in the city decided we would have our own Thanksgiving. After all, why couldn't we start our own tradition! After our meal we watched. Don't you just love my pumpkin turkey? Gemma and her good friend Lisa! I love that even ...

Growing in my heart: June 2015
http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Growing in my heart. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Father's Day in the Mountains. We are blessed to be spending some time this summer in Fort Collins, CO. So we just spent the majority of Father's Day weekend in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Mark and I absolutely love hiking and are thrilled we can now share that with the girls. They're doing great hiking, and we're exhausted from carrying them! But it's definitely worth it. What is something dad always says to you? How old is your dad? Because we got noses.

Growing in my heart. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Four years and full of life! What circumstances you were born into four years ago we do not know. What your birth family was like, who was there, where you were, how you were cared for, all of this is a mystery. What we know is that about a month later, they thought it best to trust your future to "fate". Happy 4th Birthday, little lady! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Growing in my heart: May 2015
http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Growing in my heart. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Two years ago today we entered an orphanage outside Beijing and changed a little girl's life forever. We scooped up our little Emma Hope, the one we had been longing and praying for a very, very long time. The following day she became our daughter legally and officially. She joined our family and we are forever grateful for this gift God has entrusted to our care. I can't wait to see what the coming year brings! We celebrated with new shoes and ice cream!

Growing in my heart: September 2014
http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Growing in my heart. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Isn't that how the saying goes? I'm not too sure. Elsie has no idea what's about to happen to her. She cognitively just can't understand. In tears tonight I spoke the words, just so that she'd hear them. "Your dad and I love you so much. We're doing what we think is best. Tomorrow will be a hard day for you. You will wake up with owies. But Mommy will be with you. I love you so much sweetheart.". Tuesday, September 23, 2014. A: One time in the three years...
