this my song through endless ages

This my song through endless ages. Monday, April 2, 2018. We had such a sweet Easter weekend! It started off with a bang! Matt and I spent Friday night away at a hotel in town while our dear friend Anna stayed with the kids. My 5 adore Anna and cannot get enough of her - she is such a blessing to our family! And, bonus points! She did the egg dyeing! The kids did create some really cool eggs and Matt and I arrived home Saturday to bowls and baskets of gorgeous eggs. Then, breakfast feasting time! We plan...

this my song through endless ages: October 2014

http://mattandlaurak.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

This my song through endless ages. Friday, October 31, 2014. Just for the cute factor (random pics from thursday and friday). Luke walking home from the girls' school - wearing Julianna's backpack, pushing the stroller, looking like a miniature adult. Also from our walk home yesterday. Goofball city. John Paul wearing binoculars, cause you just never know when you might need your binoculars. Luke was a very tender daddy and would ask (in the sweetest voice imaginable) "do you want to touch my baby? Once ...

this my song through endless ages: March 2015

http://mattandlaurak.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

This my song through endless ages. Sunday, March 29, 2015. We essentially spent the weekend outdoors :) It's still just so enjoyable to walk outside into comfortable temps! Saturday the big three caught tadpoles. And more tadpoles. And even more tadpoles. The neighborhood ponds and water features are brimming with them. John Paul (who was mostly preoccupied learning to ride a bike . way-to-go buddy! Got confused and started calling them "tad fish". I didn't bother to correct him :). Well this week flew.

this my song through endless ages: April 2015

http://mattandlaurak.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

This my song through endless ages. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Getting ready for a birthday. Today was my Mom's birthday. We celebrated in style :). We started Monday with the cake baking. Everyone here LOVES to cook. I step into the kitchen and the kids run for the counter. Lucky me, these days its Mom who is often stepping into the kitchen and managing the help. Matt met us there and the celebrating began. More coming later, when the pictures *finally* load! Monday, April 27, 2015. I love that my mom and ...

this my song through endless ages: cause I'm so handsome

http://mattandlaurak.blogspot.com/2015/08/cause-im-so-handsome.html

This my song through endless ages. Friday, August 7, 2015. Cause I'm so handsome. I walked in the boys room and saw Matt taking this picture. "John Paul" I asked, "Why is Daddy taking your picture? John Paul didn't miss a beat. Cause I'm so handsome.". I cannot say it loud enough. Adopting John Paul was ridiculously hard and crazy expensive. And that was before we even brought him home! The grafting of a child into a family is a hard and painful struggle that will challenge your long-suffering heart.

this my song through endless ages: the finish line is in sight!

http://mattandlaurak.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-finish-line-is-in-sight.html

This my song through endless ages. Thursday, May 21, 2015. The finish line is in sight! We are so close to finishing up the school year! Two months ago I thought we would finish earlier than this, but we've slowed our pace a bit and been busy (distracted? With other things, and spent a week traveling and it's just slowed. I'm extra thankful we maintained a nice solid pace for much of the fall. Spring is busy. The biggest changes next year are for Isaac though! He'll be leaving local preschool (probably i...

Hello dear friends and family. Most of you who know Alan would think we would have been the first ones to have a blog, but alas it is finally here! We hope you enjoy some snapshots of our normal life - that might not seem so normal as we live overseas - and enjoy keeping up to date with our family. Friday, September 19, 2014. Laura Cate was so nervous going to meet the teachers, but as soon as she stepped into the classroom her fears were relieved! Laura Cate outside her classroom door. From Grits to Rice.

http://emmclark.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

TAR HEEL Thoughts, Texas Style. Friday, November 26, 2010. You know I can't pass up a good photo op :). This year since the Jenkins have moved to Singapore we had a major dilemma on our hands as of what to do. After much deliberation me and some of my single gal friends without family in the city decided we would have our own Thanksgiving. After all, why couldn't we start our own tradition! After our meal we watched. Don't you just love my pumpkin turkey? Gemma and her good friend Lisa! I love that even ...

Growing in my heart: June 2015

http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Growing in my heart. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Father's Day in the Mountains. We are blessed to be spending some time this summer in Fort Collins, CO. So we just spent the majority of Father's Day weekend in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Mark and I absolutely love hiking and are thrilled we can now share that with the girls. They're doing great hiking, and we're exhausted from carrying them! But it's definitely worth it. What is something dad always says to you? How old is your dad? Because we got noses.

http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Growing in my heart. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Four years and full of life! What circumstances you were born into four years ago we do not know. What your birth family was like, who was there, where you were, how you were cared for, all of this is a mystery. What we know is that about a month later, they thought it best to trust your future to "fate". Happy 4th Birthday, little lady! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Growing in my heart: May 2015

http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Growing in my heart. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Two years ago today we entered an orphanage outside Beijing and changed a little girl's life forever. We scooped up our little Emma Hope, the one we had been longing and praying for a very, very long time. The following day she became our daughter legally and officially. She joined our family and we are forever grateful for this gift God has entrusted to our care. I can't wait to see what the coming year brings! We celebrated with new shoes and ice cream!

http://thefertigs.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Growing in my heart. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Isn't that how the saying goes? I'm not too sure. Elsie has no idea what's about to happen to her. She cognitively just can't understand. In tears tonight I spoke the words, just so that she'd hear them. "Your dad and I love you so much. We're doing what we think is best. Tomorrow will be a hard day for you. You will wake up with owies. But Mommy will be with you. I love you so much sweetheart.". Tuesday, September 23, 2014. A: One time in the three years...

And if your family makes less than $250,000, your taxes won't go up one dime. 6 Closes multi-billion-dollar tax loopholes for big oil companies. 10 Tells it...

Matt - Laura - Addy May - Brynlee Ann. Monday, March 9, 2015. This blog post is really fun for me. It recounts a really fun week in my life. But before we get there, here are some random pictures. We started out the weekend by doing a live session in the SLC temple. Neither of us had ever done this. It was a really cool experience. Matt drove me through a new...
