June 13, 2016. We stayed the night at the Pyramisa Isis Island Hotel. Now, I know ‘island’ means surrounded by water, but I did think that in the case of most hotels it also meant ‘and connected to the mainland by a bridge’. But not. In the morning, we were picked up by our guide, Ahmed, and taken in a minivan to see the Aswan High Dam. There are actually two Aswan dams, but the High Dam is the more recent and significant. And a storage capacity of 132 km. Egyptian Museum and on to Aswan. June 11, 2016.
