Thursday, August 4, 2011. Beginning Homeschooling: What I Wish I’d Done Differently. Originally published at Life Without School. June 15, 2007. I have trying to think of advice and encouragement for a friend who has just plunged into home schooling after several years of public education. Pondering what we have learned in our 3 years of life without school only confuses me. The more I learn on our journey, the more aware I become of how much I don’t know. 8221; How much is “enough? First, I would have r...

Saturday, March 24, 2012. May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor: Review of The Hunger Games on Screen. Sounds an awful lot like Battle Royale. Japanese film with a similar premise. However, in acting, character development, and substance, The Hunger Games. Which was somewhat an underdeveloped bloodbath, albeit a creative one. Although this film pushes the PG-13 rating, it has nowhere near the level of violence as Battle Royale. And should be okay for kids over a certain age. Back in 2 0. But The Hunger Games.

Confessions of an Erratic Homeschooling Mom: Thoughts on "Special Needs" from an Atypical Household
http://www.momto3feistykids.com/2011/09/thoughts-on-special-needs-from-atypical.html
Saturday, September 10, 2011. Thoughts on "Special Needs" from an Atypical Household. This was originally posted in November, 2007. I was listening to a bit of an NPR program on the way to Wal-Mart. They had been interviewing Jonathan Mooney. Mooney did learn to read and write, and he went on to earn a degree in English Literature from Brown University. He started Eye to Eye. To support students with "special needs.". At this point, I was nodding my head and saying, "well, YES! This point seems obvious t...
Confessions of an Erratic Homeschooling Mom: Updates on Our Chaotic Life
http://www.momto3feistykids.com/2012/05/updates-on-our-chaotic-life.html
Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Updates on Our Chaotic Life. I haven't had much focus lately. Meanwhile, life keeps happening, and I continue reading other people's blogs - full of thoughtful, interesting learning activities - and fantasizing about being one of those.

Happy Are You Poor. My Book of Centuries. Planning for High School. Sunday, April 29, 2012. New Physics and Old Metaphysics, reprise. Well, over here is a lecture called The New Physics and the Old Metaphysics. The real God, Consolmagno says (I can't past his words directly because of the format of the lecture text), the God of Abraham, is not bo...

Friday, September 2, 2011. Man of the House. The man of the house is less than impressed with the info we got in the mail today from my insurance company. After school, I ran home to grab my cell phone and also picked up the mail. We went to drive thru for something to drink, and as we were waiting, I opened the info on the claim for my house damage from the Aug. 18. His response.I think this is harsh. He totally cracks me up. Like we have 17,000 to spend on repairs! So the man of the house is seemingly ...

Mom to Three Monkies
Mom to Three Monkies. I know you can relate! So I ate a bigger than normal late lunch and was super full ALL afternoon. I decided to try to run at 5pm for about 4 miles while Jeff took the kids to the Y. I normally go early in the morning which is my optimal time to work out, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Although slower than normal, I didn't feel too bad! Pretty much wet my pants because after 3 kids and running after a full day of drinking water, it's all down hill from there. Of course...
