Mother Nature's Garden: March 2008
http://mothernaturesgarden.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
A daily appreciation of all things beautiful. Monday, March 31, 2008. Click on photo to enlarge.). Seeds as fine as dust planted on top of the soil sprouted into miniscule plants. I pricked them from the plug and planted them in a larger container. I'm always amazed how life can be stored so compactly. Those are grains of sand in the photo not pebbles. The flowers are not only attractive but fragrant at night. Plants are poisonous. Sunday, March 30, 2008. Never fail to please especially on a cloudy day.

Bumblebee chickens attacked…news of an injury and a loss. This is a sad blog post to write, because once again tragedy has struck here at Bumblebee. Almost since our chickens arrived, we have been in the habit of letting them out of their Palazzo. And fenced outdoor run to have a walkabout in the afternoons for a couple of hours. T Boone prior to the attack. There was a large collection of white feathers in the middle of the front lawn the kind of feather that could only belong to T. Boone Chickens.

Today I was putting a few plants into one of the newly dug borders that we have made this year. I was thinking about how I go about re-planting a flower bed – or a whole garden for that matter. Mother Nature's Garden | a daily appreciation of beauty
Mother Nature's Garden. A daily appreciation of beauty. This Year’s Success. September 6, 2011. I have been totally happy with the performance of the fibrous root and dragon wing begonias this year. They just may be what works for me. What more could you ask for other than lush foliage and plenty of blooms that look good rain or shine? September 5, 2011. August 31, 2011. Mist flower is a late season perennial that adds a little blue to the garden. It is quite nice next to the rich color of rudbeckias.

Mother Nature's Garden Evolution
Mother Nature's Garden Evolution. Friday, August 12, 2011. One of our bluebird boxes was not being used. We cleaned it and hung it upside down on the fence to dry. A couple of days later when we returned to get the house to hang it, the bluebirds seemed to have already occupied it. They seemed to be going in it a lot as if building a nest and later feeding babies. When we checked, nothing was in there. We have had high winds and although the box is simply resting on the fence rail, it hasn't blown off.
