Gardening with a sense of humor. Sunday, August 9, 2009. My garden reminds me of a Bergman film. Death in The Seventh Seal. 1956), directed by Ingmar Bergman. This afternoon I noticed cobwebs on the edges of the incense cedar. Then I saw the weeping cherry had strangely yellow leaves on three branches. As I raked up. The dead grass on the back lawn. It all seemed too symbolic, and I felt like I was in a Bergman movie full of ominous portent. What's the opening scene in your garden right now? Just look an...

Scheds — Eng. & His. Scheds — Math & Sci. Please note, I added 2 pages to keep this one from becoming “gi-nor-mous”. Now you can go under “English and History (related)”, or “Math and Science”. Extra schedules may wind up here in the future. And this page is STILL BEING FIXED. I am a scheduler, what can I say? If I don’t have a schedule, things simply don’t get done. There are honestly days where I even write out simple automatic things like “brush your teeth”. I admit to being a bit fanatical that way.

We have a knot that ties us together that is the result of a life-long bond. Through thick and thin, Insecurity has always been here with me. My husband has been known to tell me on occasion that Insecurity plays with him also. This is akin to the puddle saying to the ocean, “Look, we are both bodies of water! 8221; True, yet so vastly different as to be laughable. I picked ...

Mother Nature's Garden Evolution
Mother Nature's Garden Evolution. Friday, August 12, 2011. One of our bluebird boxes was not being used. We cleaned it and hung it upside down on the fence to dry. A couple of days later when we returned to get the house to hang it, the bluebirds seemed to have already occupied it. They seemed to be going in it a lot as if building a nest and later feeding babies. When we checked, nothing was in there. We have had high winds and although the box is simply resting on the fence rail, it hasn't blown off.
