A blog to honour Marisa’s journey through and beyond cancer. February 25, 2009 in 1. Shortly after Marisa died I read and heard that though my grief was very raw then, it would somehow lessen. I didn’t believe them then. I couldn’t then. I have had a while to think about that notion. I still don’t believe it, or at least how it was explained to me then. I don’t believe that it lessens, I just believe that I am more experienced and know how and what to take from a pocket of grief. A letter to my children.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Tuesday, August 18, 2015. 2015 - 2016 School Year is here! Kailee and Anika felt like pros with this whole school routine thing again. They started last week, August 12. We have fallen into "the norm" quite easily, BUT we haven't added all the extras yet, like music lessons and sports.
