Our Mission & Vision. Once a Follower, Now a Leader Ms. Grant’s Book Club. A Rapunzel Empowered Ms. Turner’s Book Club. A book she loved. She began to join more frequently in discussions about the book, and Ms. Turner saw her become more confident in her role as an active book club member. It is apt that Kerstyn found her voice through Rapunzel’s Revenge. Because she is quite similar to the Rapunzel we meet in this retelling of the classic fairy tale timid and fearful at first, but empowered by the end.

Generally, when I talk about reading, I’m talking about children and the importance of each child developing strong reading skills, which includes an adequate fluency rate. So, when I saw a few articles about a relatively new movement called Slow Reading, I had to see what it’s all about. Slowed memory loss in later years. Deepened empathy from reading about people who are unlike you or in circumstances that are different than yours.
